May not have liked the decision, but for me it was the right decision for all concerned.

I agree with Muppet and there's nothing in that interview that makes me think otherwise. Timing was odd though, stories of him falling out with (another) manager and then as soon as there's no manager the Chairman sacked him. Don't fully understand that and from his POV it is perhaps odd that they didn't wait to see if the new manager did want him (although IMO they'd be wrong if they did)

Can understand shipping out Kedwell and getting Ebbsfleet to cough up his 2 grand a week wages for the next 18 months but why couldn't Scally do the same to Antonio German and save another 500 quid a week for the next 18 months?

just checked and his 'business' is a football academy that he works for - hardly 'his' business - he maybe a gills supporter but his ego far surpassed his ability at league 1 level - he could probably still do a job for someone at league 2 level if his fitness allows - great with fans but too many stories of him being a billy big b******s and trying to run the team for there to be no truth in it
he has a record too for falling out with managers - clearly someone who thinks he knows it all - shame as if he stop worrying about everyone else's job and put more focus into himself including cutting out the kebabs he may have had a more successful league career
on this one the chairman has got it spot on i'm afraid - the best decision all round providing we bring someone else in

Can't go down as one of Hessy's better signings, given the fee paid and rumoured high wages. It shows how things have changed. There would have been mutiny had he been released a year ago, and possibly even in the summer

I listened to the non-league show on BBC Radio 5 Live at the weekend and one of the panel said that he had played with Keds at AFC Wimbledon and that although he was a whole-hearted player during games he was not a good trainer. If this still applies it was not a very good example to the younger players in Gills squad.

Must admit recently he did not look particularly fit.

but we have to say thank you to him for moving on as easy as he did, lets not forget he had 18 months left on his contract so did not have to go anywhere, it could have ended up ugly but he chose not to make it so, so for that, thank you keds, and good luck.
