Interesting that Nelson hasn't kept a clean sheet. Sometimes even if a keeper is playing ok, a change can work. I always felt that Taylor was hasty in dropping Bywater.

Wont keep a clean sheet until we address the lack of bite in midfield. Please, please now I have said I hope the team make me look a bigger idiot than I already am. Really nervous about tomorrow and haven't felt like this before a game for ages, see this a real must win.

Yes it's a must win. That's why it concerns me that I can't see us winning it.What a mess we're in!

If it wasn't for nelson in goal we would have conceded even more goals. Bywater was a average goalkeeper at best and Nelson is one of the best keepers around in the lower leagues, its just a shame that he was exposed far too often by our poor defenders that taylor consistently failed to address (excluding egan ) and had no idea how to set the team up to be difficult to beat. Im so glad that the donkey left us.

Great post mistert Usual tripe from 888. When Bywater plays, he's rubbish. When Nelson plays, it's Taylor's fault. As for not addressing the defence, why did we have a virtually brand new back 4/5 playing for most of this season?
Nelson's problem and the reason he isn't a great keeper is that he doesn't command his box well enough. Watch him during a game and he stays rooted to his line when a cross comes in. Like Bywater, he also makes the odd mistake but Bywater commanded his area better, which makes life easier for a defender.
Come on now, 888, I'm sure with your wide football expertise you understand that keeping isn't all about shot stopping?

Nelson is a better keeper than bywater. Decent keepers don't have a previous clubs list as long as your arm.
The fans love nelson and bywater was never a permanent fixture here.

What about throwing Glenn Morris into the mix.He has done really well when called on.For me Bywater and Nelson were evenly matched. Both have there faults as of course would Morris. But I can't help thinking that Nelson needs to be reminded he still has to do better than he has of late.

I have watched Morris a few times this season and frankly he has done as well as those who have played far more games. For me Nelson is still number one but Morris is not as far behind as many would believe.
