Sigh, if Taylor was so negative, how are there only 10 teams who've score more goals than us? 5 of them are, like, the actual top 5. Obviously everything wasn't great but negativity really wasn't the problem.
Everyone has been delighted by the points today but anyone who believes we're better now than we were under Taylor is kidding themselves.

I just cannot get my head around that we were a poor team today we scored three goals should maybe have scored five and the brakes were off and we won, over the moon! Bring on a new manager who if he was present today must realise we have plusses to work on! As a footnote I notice after a good run Newport lost 4-0 at Cambridge today could that mean player unrest as Justin Edinburgh is on the way to Gills!

Don't talk rubbish this has nothing to do with Peter Taylor this was my view of today's match absolutely nothing else. As I said before I felt both teams were very poor and unless we improved our game we would not be going anywhere fast. Don't try and read into people's comments something that is not there. As far as I am concerned the business with peter Taylor is finished and I am looking forward to a new Manager hopefully one that the fans are going to approve of and support. God Jan you served a viscous ace there might have trouble getting that one back! Up the Gills!

I felt we passed the ball well in patches. Hess was my MOM his all round game was excellent.Hess and Prichard largely controlled the midfield. The midfield Loft apart had good games. Those around me my mate apart vented there anger at Loft for 75 minutes then the main man stormed out of the stadium. We all had a good laugh at the end . Dack was outstanding in patches he really seemed to enjoy himself. It was like a straight Jacket had been removed.Give him game time to build up a understanding with those around him and a new manager I think we will see a very different Bradley Dack than under Taylor. John Marquis may not have Bayo build but played the roll Bayo often did for Gills he really did link the play well.He is much more mobile than the big man and was able to get up and support Cody too.He really grew into the game and deserved his goal. One game does not prove anything but carry on like that and he would be more than welcome to stay.A partner for Cody? It was never looked a penalty against us from my view from the Rainham end I also thought we were a little lucky to get ours too.But it was at least clear contact was made which it wasn't for Coventry's spot kick. I also felt that Hoyte had a solid game. Egan and Ehmer handled a poor Coventry front line Jackson looked in similar shape to when Cody arrived with us.I could not understand why Nouble was wasted out wide when he was always most likely to give us problems. Wasn't sure about Gramston he looks quick but often gave in away.On a positive he finished the game really strongly. Cody penalty apart did have a few chances to get on the score sheet but it just would not go in for him. Most of his chances were difficult at best. But there did seem to be the beginnings of a link with Marquis.

Overall I was happy today yes Coventry were not that good. But we went behind to at best a soft penalty and won 3-1 There is something for the new man to build on and he has or at least should have a budget to bring in a few players. Wish fans would cheer up a bit it is not all bad news. We won!!!!!!

Lots of interesting views adding some fun to the forum. It's certainly come alive here in the last few weeks!
For me, the back 4 were all good. Hoyte had Nouble in his pocket and I'm delighted to see our best 2 centre backs playing together finally and doing well. Both took good bookings for the team. Left back improved after a shaky start. In midfield, I thought we were unbalanced and lacking pace. I felt McGlashan changed the game. Loft was very poor again, Hess was hit and miss and while Dack did ok, he wasn't involved enough for me. I thought apart from a couple of misplaced passes, Pritchard had a good game and I wasn't happy when he came off. I'm getting the feeling he's a brighter player than some of our others as there were times when he played a decent ball to someone who didn't read it. I firmly believe he needs a run in the side and he will be a real playmaker for us. I also like the fact he isn't scared of a tackle. I didn't think Marquis was great until he scored. I like his work rate, but was worried he looked like he lacked confidence in front of goal. Hopefully that goal will see him kick on. Cody was decent as ever. The main thing though was the 3 points and a gills side who looked more solid, if lacking in quality

I enjoyed todays game very much and the minimum we deserved was a point against reasonable opposition. Coventry had the better of the first half and their penalty left us with a mountain to climb. We were much the better side in the second half and in the Nelson was a spectator throughout.
I would have to say cody was man of the match he was awesome and wanted to let pressley know what he is missing. Marquis got better as the game progressed and showed some Def touches and did plenty of donkey work, he mixed it up well. The west brom player was very good indeed , he looked comfortable on the ball and a threat on the wing too. Much better player than Martin will ever be, we need him to stay till end of the season. Dack was also very good indeed and.young hess played the best I have seen him play and needs to play like that more often , loft needs to raise his game because he is not producing enough to warrant a starting place at.the moment, could see him moaning far too much for a captain. Pritchard might well be a ok player in the future but I'm not convinced he has the mental strength to make enough impact and believe he will be released or moved on. He was subbed and didn't like it and let Lovell know about his feelings. The substitutions were right apart from garmston but, hey !! Lovell brought on dickenson and maglashan for theit pace and it paid off so well done the management team. With a couple of new faces and kuqi in charge we will be fine
I was proud of the character shown by the players for really having a decent go at Coventry. Not sure Taylor would have got this result.

I was in the Directors'ox. No signal as far as I could see. We went for the third goal and didn't sit back. Also, the linesman saw the challenge and flagged for a penalty immediately. An experienced friend sat in the Gordon Road Stand said he thought it was a penalty, as was the one given to Coventry; Cody kept his nerve superbly to ignore the goading of the Cov players and their time wasting.
So come the last 10 minutes, we went for a third goal and yes it was a penalty..

Great result and well pleased with the three points, much needed. Thought mom was marquis who had a very good game and caused their defence a number of problems. Agree with some above, two poor teams but you can only beat what is in front of you. Should have been 2-0 up and against better opposition we will need to be much more clinical. Left back did well and can see him being an asset also. Loft awful for 70 mins, but when played in his correct position we looked a much better and balanced side - Fab Four please note Hess junior doesn't command an automatic place! I too thought Pritchard did ok, but Hess for me is to slow. That said so was his old man in making the substitutions, that was a big problem with him last time. Overall defence and forwards did well, but midfield is our biggest issue ATM. As to the decisions, theirs was a penalty and ours never. Thanks Lino, much needed and we have had loads go against us so our turn me thinks. Relaxing rest of weekend, the first for a while. Another 3 points next week will get us back into the mix for mid table security. COYG
