Just wondering if anyone knows I think the average age of the outfield players is about 22 and a half.Even taking Nelson in only takes it to about 23 and a half.Cody is now a veteran at 28.
It could be the youngest side ever that has started a league one (or same as)match for us.I am sure that during the pre Scally day it could be beaten but only when in the bottom division.
Good for the future of the club if someone can make it work.

And that's the only way that'll we will ever get the club to progress. Hopefully we can develop these lads and command a fee for them. Much better than the old strategy of bringing in players who had never really done anything on high wages. It's essential that the new manager doesn't change what we are trying to do

I think he will hessisgod there are few Managers out there that want to build on a young team. I think the pressures are too strong from the word go they won't be allowed to do this.

Agree , jan That's where the chairman needs to be stronger this time rather than making another rash decision

I know he is not that young but having spend 7 years running England under 18-20 team he may seem unlikely. But could be the man to take us forward. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noel_Blake

Age 53 May not fit PS criteria. That is if we believe what he said. Although 53 is not old I got the feeling he was looking for someone younger?

Hopefully he employs the best person for the job, regardless. Have a feeling he said that a reason for sacking PT when in reality, it had nothing to do with it

An impressive win % stato of 63% with England U19's and clearly gets youngsters playing to achieve that. As to the age thing, PS needs to be careful not to let "the right somebody" go just because of their age. Also, don't fancy and ageist claim against the club on top of everything else...

It may be stating the obvious, but I believe Paul Scally will Not be too worried if he doesn't manage to sign a new manager this month. The new man will be told he will have to work with what is here including the coaching staff, using only the loan market until the end of the season. That will be when he can start to build his own squad. Staying up will be the only aim from here on in

Very possible holbrook, but dangerous game to play having to rely on getting loan players in next month. Hopefully a couple more wins in the not too distant future will make his decision easier if thats his desired course of action.

Now it's been left this long, I don't think it will be all bad if we don't sign someone before the window closes. Better that the new man has to manage with what we've got plus the loan system than a load of has beens are brought in on long contracts through panic buying in the closing days.

Just looked at the transfers made so far and isn't really that many to look at and from memory a large percentage don't happen until the last few days of the window, so still possibly time for a new manager and done new faces, but agree let's not panic buy rubbish.
