Swanleygill is correct as historically 50 has neary always proved to be enough although I believe Millwall dropped from League One at some stage with 52 points

Well.... what can i say credit where credit is due (if i don't say so myself) i knew these players had it in them to perform in league one, credit to the management team in bringing the best out of them. Cheers iblue, we was relegated from the championship in 2005 with 50 points i think, don't think it has happened since, sucks ay.

The simple answer is by supporting the whole team. The team have shown a togetherness that has not been seen for quite a few years.IF the crowd get behind them for the rest of the season come what may we will be fine. Our support is vital with a team so young. The signs a excellent but we(THE FANS) can do so much better frankly.Time to up our game starting this weekend. The lads deserve our support.Weather you are 8 or 80 things are looking up but there is work to do get behind these lads and they will do more than just stay up.It may take time to get to back to being a real force in this division but with the right support and a few wise signings in the close season we can do so much better next term.
GET YOUR SELF DOWN TO PRIESTFIELD THIS WEEKEND WE CAN DO IT.
TOGETHER WE CAN MOVE UP THIS LEAGUE.
THE PLAYERS ARE CLEARLY UNITED TIME WE WERE TO.
CALL YOURSELF A GILLS FAN WELL IT IS TIME TO SHOW THAT SUPPORT.
JUSTIN EDINBURGH'S BARMY ARMY ON THE MARCH.
UP THE GILLS.

Agree Swanley, a number of us were behind the youth strategy and hopefully this is the way we will continue. Looks like we are the in form team in the division ATM. Looking forward to Saturday to see how JE sets the team up. Really looking forward to what will be a very tough test, but one the lads will be really up for. COYG

I never doubted that Jan.
I strongly believe we need to look closely at clubs like Burnley and ask why can't we do that? The biggest reason is apart from a few short years we have never really pulled together as a club.Sure we can all find something to moan about even while we are on a good run. The Chairman (why can't we have someone perfect), Manager(why can we have someone perfect.) Players(why can't we have some that are perfect) Fans you get the idea.
None of us are perfect and never will be. Loft is a example at the moment we all know he can do better. But ask yourself this is he going to get better if fans give him non stop greef, frankly no. He will get worse same as we all would if it was happening at work/school.Support the guy I am sure Edinburgh knows he is below his best and do everything he can to pull him around. But hours/weeks on the training ground can be undone in a few minutes on a Saturday afternoon.Let the guy have a new start under Edinburgh judge him then if you have too.But give him a chance being captain of our youngest side ever at this level.Taylor clearly did not have the nerve to do what was needed he clearly feared they would concede shed loads if we pushed to many forward. That is one advantage that Lovell and Co had he had no reason to worry the worse that could happen was he went back to his old job. There was clearly no way Scally was going to have a total clear out when the development and youth side of things has been going well.
So chill out a bit enjoy the game again we are a lot more fun to watch now.
Don't expect to much too soon building for the future takes time and there will be set backs.
There will always be things we could moan about, teams higher than us,that I am afraid goes with being a Gillingham fan.
But we can do better the club that I am sure.Young hungry players weather they come out of the youth side or not they have something in common they want to play football.Teams and managers like Taylor are too afraid to let them loose.Lads are like of Luke Freeman could have been playing in the premier league now had he not signed for Arsenal.I truly believe a lot of top sides are destroying young talent in this country. We need to give it a chance who knows in a few years we may even be counting the number of current and ex gills on international duty.
The only way we can overtake the likes of Southampton and Crewe for producing players is by having a good coaching set up and for the crowd to back the players 100% through thick and thin.
If you have 3 or 4 players other teams want that is a good thing yes it will mean upping the wages and selling from time to time but we can progress.
THATS THE WAY WE STAY UP FOR GOOD.There is a buzz around the place that will grow if we let it.

A win vs MK Dons and Doncaster now seem possible at home. Away, I fancy our chances at Bristol City after a good draw against them in the JPT. Maybe we can take Swindon also. Here's hoping....COYG [/quote]
Yes a win vs MK Dons not only possible but actually achieved. That's two more points than I expected in my original forecast of a draw. I might revise my entire expectation of just 3 weeks ago.

Losing to Yeovil would be classic gills. Won't be an easy game against a team fighting for their lives

Losing to Yeovil would be classic gills. Won't be an easy game against a team fighting for their lives How Would it be 'classic Gills'? Its got a good chance of being one of our hardest remaining games, a very important one for Yeovil. Theyll see at home to a mid table side as a real match that they Would believe they Can get a result from.
