Edinburgh may well turn out.to be a good manager for us but I can't help thinking kuqi had the contacts whereas Edinburgh does not possess a wide network like kuqi has at his disposal. Here we go again..................

Cheers Swanley some interesting comments, but pretty much agree with all the above comments. One concern at our level is the contacts for players, which we have heavily relied upon over a number of seasons. From the latest posts looks like its him, as cant imagine them holding a press conference to confirm staying. Its a normal pre Saturday match press conference mate, like the gills had one today, the odd thing about the Newport one was it was due at 9.30am and had been put back to 12.30pm, sounds to me like both chairman are hoping to sort it for sure in the AM, one way or another.

Edinburgh may well turn out.to be a good manager for us but I can't help thinking kuqi had the contacts whereas Edinburgh does not possess a wide network like kuqi has at his disposal. Contacts are fine but unless you can offer to send the player back improved in some way any doors that may have been open will quickly close. It seems to me that Kuqi may well turn out to be a good manager but needs more time learning his trade before he would be ready to take on the youngest side at this level. The key to unlocking why Edinburgh is clearly his track record developing young players it does sound like Newport have a few rough diamonds. The problem there would be league two itself is hardly suited to young players playing football. But if Edinburgh can come in and use and develop the players and we have playing a style that they are comfortable with then Scally could have found us the man we need going forward.Modern football is all about now but if this season teaches anything it should be patience.Taylor unfortunately had to many square pegs in round holes while he clearly had the contacts and coaching know how he wanted the players to play his way. Some could not adapt also most clearly hated the defensive system.JE sounds like he is willing to adapt the system to fit in with the players he has or can get.No manager we could get will guarantee success but JE has done things in the right way coaching wise he has the top badge you can get.He has started at the bottom and is fighting his way up.Clearly he shares the view of county fans that they are not ready as a club for promotion to our level.Looking at their squad of players and ground they are clearly already punching above there weight. If Edinburgh can improve players as his record at Newport does suggest bring in loans if he needs them will not be a problem.Badges maybe meaningless but if he has them it proves he has at least the basic knowledge and given the last few results his players clearly believe in him, something some of our managers have not had.Yes I know Taylor had the badges but Taylor's problems seem strange and complex in my view.JE has taken a struggling conference side Newport had just one win in 12 league games at the start of the 2011-12 season. To near the top of league two.If he is to be named manager as it appears lets get behind the guy it could well be that on Saturday we will have our chance to welcome the man on board. He may not be everyone's choice but that is going to happen anyway. But clearly his teams attack he pushes men forward even away from home so whatever happens we are in for more excitement lets enjoy it.Get your tickets for the up coming games and lets get Priestfield back to the way it should be.
