Gills have called a press conference at 1.15pm and newport have called one for 1pm, i wonder why. I am so glad i am not going today, to see PS parading JE around priestfield like the cat that got the cream and like he has just signed some world beater, JE will get my full support, but PS is vile and i can't wait until the day we get a new chairman.

Swanley, that's all a bit unnecessary - I'm sure Mr Scally does his best for the club, 'vile' is a tad strong!

Agree Hess, at bloody last. Now we can get back to the usual arguments!! I'm also thinking of opening a book on what the first 888 moan will be.

Well as he owns the club can you blame him - Plenty off worse chairman around, be careful what you wish for - we could end up like Leeds, Portsmouth, Coventry etc. Last time I heard Vile used was when I took the kids to Panto Gills on the up!

I think it was right that JE came onto the pitch today he was not paraded as such and the Rainham End gave him a brilliant reception. It was right to introduce him to the fans and the time was appropriate as the deal has just been finalised. I listened to him speak on Radio Kent at 2pm and thought he spoke very well. He was clear concise and articulate and I hope we hear from him after every match.

It's probably a more difficult situation for him now, than when his name was first mentioned. He takes over a team, who's form has been turned around by four men who are gills through and through. Have just witnessed a great win over a team like Sheff Utd, and playing more attacking football then under Taylor. I am sure that he has his own ideas on how we should play, would it be wise of him to try and continue to play the way we are now, or start to implement his own style and risk bad results due to the time the players need to adapt to his ideas. There again hie might want to play the way that the team plays now, either way because of the gang of fours success he has come into a bit of a no win situation.

The team of four will be reduced now that he has joined and I think that a sensible route would be listen to what they have to say and take that into consideration before implementing his ideas. He will without doubt want to make the changes that he thinks is right to improve the play and I think this is right, no point in employing a Manager unless he brings with him a fresh approach to enable our youngsters to grow into a much better team.

Hopefully his first decision will be to extend Cody's contract and then look at the loan market to bring some players he likes to see if they fit in for permanent deals in the summer and at the same time bolster our squad, which looks light due to the number if injuries we have.

Muppet this would be my priory as well. Get Cody signed up he has found his form and we need him. I am sure that JE will recognise this as well.

We are told that Scally even asked the players who they wanted as manager.I am totally sure that he would have spoken to the coaching staff too. That vote of confidence to JE sends a welcome message. So I am totally sure that the players and coaching staff as a whole will work together. To build a future it may take time but by all reports JE does not get teams to play a lot different to the way we have been I would expect him to largely stick by the side that has done well last few matches.A friend of mine was right in saying that Sheffield looked tired on Saturday but we got at them quickly unsettled them all over the pitch.Really happy that for once the feeling among the fans is generally good.JE has a tough start but the lads will be bubbling and rightly so if he works with those already here and gets the best out of them we can move forward with no little confidence.Glad to see 2nd half EJ impact on Loft after half time it was like watching a very different player.EJ has got a reputation for turning players form around I think we saw the 1st sign at the weekend that he can do just that with Loft.

Just read PS comments on appointment on official website. All fine by me but and he thanks Newport for their professionalism in handling the process but then goes on to say its a difficult time when a club loses a manager and we've (been) in that position our selves in the past. I was just thinking when was that Funny I thought he may have been referring to Len Ashurst going to Newport in the 70s, but time has played a trick on me since apparently Ashurst went to Newport via Sheff Weds first :-((( so the only one it seriously could be was Glen Roeder when PS was attending the Den when not at school :-)))
