That might explain the urgency to offer new ST's and renewals for next season ASAP and help plug our revenue deficit plus legal costs

I also assume it causes some much more immediate problems providing catering for those that have booked corporate boxes and wine-and-dine. Again, doesn't look good on the club regardless of the merits of the arguments.

If GFC try and sue Centreplate, as an American company will Centreplate insist on the case being heard in the USA? As GFC will almost certainly lose out there it will be very expensive. Other US companies have used the same tactic to make life difficult. I hope not, but their actions so far look to have left GFC high and dry.

The club do not have the resources :/ so we don;t have a kitchen, or the ability to buy/store food, worrying. The fancy banqueting bit, sure, needs sorting, but laying on food for match days should not be difficult.

Hope someone's told the local chippys to lay on extra staff...Will the message get out to all the burger van owners?
Centreplate's story is (unsurprisingly) somewhat different and refers to the lack of open dialogue with the club's management.....

Complete nightmare for the club. I hope it doesn't affect the relationship with sponsors/corporate who bring a lot of money into Gills. I think the real reason behind this is that the caterers paid massively over the top when the 10 year deal was signed and have been losing money. I wouldn't be surprised if promises made by the club to sell the deal hadn't materialised from what I've heard. Chances of us beating a large American firm in the courts? None. Hoping it's not itv digital mk2

That's the way I would have read this. The original deal did not produce the revenue that the Catering Company had anticipated, they tried to renegotiate and they were unable to do this so decided to pull away completely. Maybe negotiating and receiving a lesser deal for a shorter timescale could have worked for both sides and would have allowed Gills to find an alternative Company to come in to operate the catering without leaving the club with nothing?

Yes, not good for us as a club and we will potentially lose a lot of face, corporate money and goodwill. Can't blame the club, we entered into a contract and if the supplier underpriced then that is their issue and should mean by pulling away they are in breach of contract. That being said as you have all pointed out, they are yanks and will tie it up in court for the next 10 years. Agree technical, surely a few burgers vans must be available and would pay for a pitch on match days and tbh I bet the food and drink will taste better than the rubbishes usually served up. Can't beat the smell of burger van burgers and onions!!! It will be just like the old days. ,

Lets be honest the catering was ridiculously overpriced and not very good so I will not miss them! Yet another massive fallout for our Chairman ,thank god hes not the Chairman of the United Nations it would be Armageddon!

Wondering if Gills home attendances were tied into how much Linley/CentreplateUK paid the club for the 10 year Catering franchise. Remember fans sometimes looking in disbelief inside Priesfield when the crowd was announced over the tannoy on a low turnout and at other times not divulged until the following week if at all. Not saying anything dodgy was going on but at the moment it remains a bit of an enigma

I do know there is at least one meeting going on on Saturday that could lead to a positive solution in the short or longer term.I can say no more and I know very little more anyway.
