Good win at Crawley which I believe signals that we have grown in belief as a team. We were certainly becoming harder and harder to beat and had such a nice run when we beat the likes of Peterborough and Swindon away. This means more IMO as it was local for bragging rights vs a team that has recently shored itself up with new players. We led, they equalized and we came back to win at their place when they must have felt they had the momentum. I will wait for the match report but I am as pleased with this victory as almost any other this season except for the 3 nil battering of the Swine. UTG...

Agree. Good away win against an in-form side who are battling against relegation. As well as the confidence boost, it also takes us past the 50 point mark before we're even into April. It's good being a Gills fan at the moment and I can only see things improving next season.

Wonderful support from the supporters that made the journey today and made a great deal of noise. Very proud of the clubs away support.

We traditionally travel well, especially to the local games. Really good turnout and a good result that should see us safe now

Our passing was a joy to watch today yes largely we kept it simple.A more and more desperate Crawley were left chasing the ball for long periods as our midfield took total control in the first half.Loft and Morris were playing the deeper holding roll allowing McGlashan and Dack to cut open the Crawley rear guard. This may have been a side that won there last three but by half time they looked a beaten outfit. Crawley had clearly been given a lift at half time by Dean Saunders and looked a different side second half however they were still unable to break Gills down.In the end a contested Free kick on half way was our undoing while players disputed Mr Kettle decision Crawley took a quick free kick and that man McLeod did the rest.Gills however started to regain control after the equalizer.A great pass by Aaron Morris started the move that was finished off at the far post by McGlashan for a well deserved goal.McGlashan really did show Crawley a clean pair of heels all game. The joy of the players could be seen after the goal and relief of a seasons first real goal as good as completed. No we had not won the world cup to quote our old friend Evans but we did beat a side that were dangerous. I believe they look like they will go down and given their really poor crowds I am amazed anyone could keep them in this league.A defeat today would have made life difficult for us many said Justin got it wrong last week no doubt some said the same a kick off today. But the whole side played well those that came in for rare start this or last week very much played their part.Marquis in some ways was more missed than Cody because with him there we can go direct when we needed to.But it was rare we did not rush things let the Fleetwood's and Orient's of this world try to beat us keep the ball the killer pass will come if you keep control and are patient.
G.Morris Good distribution,Some clean catches and handling, not much he could have done about the goal. Hoyte Much better than last week good all round game. Egan Back near his best both in the air and on the deck. Ehmer Almost capped a very good performance with goal in the second half. Bell Rewind to last week except he did finish the game.Impressed me again. A.Morris How we have missed him in the last few months, total control. Some outstanding passes and tackles. Loft Playing deeper than last weekend Doug's pairing with Morris looked stronger than any other partnership in central midfield.Shared the holding roll to great affect. Dack Back to his very best in the first half his movement and distribution were a joy to watch quieter in the second period but was behind most of Gills best moves crossing for the winner and of course got that all important opener. McGlashan He simply destroyed them should have shot a few times when he unselfishly tried to play in others. Marquis Playing a slightly deeper roll on the left gave everything made Crawley defender rush on the ball.Made some great runs. Norris Played in Dack for the opener really good work rate and some important hold up play, but never looked like getting on the score sheet. Cody never really got into the game but if it fires him up for next week then it would have been worthwhile. Dickenson came on very late in the game appeared to be playing very much the same roll as the departing Marquis.

I'm as delighted as all Gills supporters tonight that we won this very important match.
My reservations made last week were based on the unpredictable results in this division over the last few weeks. Today was no different. Crewe, Coventry and Leyton Orient all picking up 3 points. Had we lost today (thankgoodness we didn't) we would have been right in the mix, especially with the games we have left. Crawley would have been only two points behind us and on a great run. My concern was, and I still stand by it, we should secure the points needed before experimenting with the squad.
It's easy to say, well we won today, so what's your problem. I can assure you that had we lost, it would be squeaky bum time until the end of the season.
Anyway I was proved to be wrong and too negative. Up the Gills.

Great result and well done to the team, management and away supporters. Sounds like some very good individual performances with the team playing well together as well. Onwards and upwards.
