A week ago I wrote a post talking about a landmark win at Crawley. I felt this was proof that we really were a team with a future and had the mental fortitude to overcome challenges. Today I write with disappointment after a home loss to Fleetwood where reports indicate we were inept and now a draw at Orient after holding a 3 to 1 lead after 55 minutes. Have not seen any reporting on the game yet but instinct and past knowledge tells me we dropped two points rather than gaining one. I guess this confirms that the game is unpredictable - any given day etc - but I would love to see us with a reputation for HOLDING a lead late on, wouldn't you? Worse is that given the single point today and not the three, we are still not safe from relegation. Yeovil are down but the three above that could catch us. We are still needing to play well and win or play badly and win - either way. COYG

I know what you mean, sunnyboy. But having read iblue's report, I think that there were a lot of positives to be taken from Monday's game and that if it had followed a win then we would take it as further evidence that we had a lot to look forward to next season. We've had a wobble mainly due to the necessity of giving some fringe players match time (and how this has helped them we'll have to judge when the retained list is announced) but for me one of the best "signings" for next season will be Doug Loft playing to his full potential.

Agreed time to get off Loft's back and let him enjoy being at his local club. The crowd were fantastic on Monday it was a great open game.I have not enjoyed a game so much since our Swindon win.At half time I was thinking that Legge had done well and maybe should get another year extension.By the time he came off he had been well and truly found out.JE needs to see things for himself.A gills fan said to me can't he just ask someone. But it is more important guys like Legge get a chance and the rest of the squad see that. The policy of letting things show for real will build a team spirit. Many managers are to set in their ways to give X or Y a chance.Under Stimpson for example we saw a closed door policy at work.In the longer term it totally destroys the camp. What Je is doing will bring the lads closer together. It is not as if we are seeing wholesale changes or players who are at the distant reaches of the squad. What he saw for himself in one game how at league two level Legge is a real asset but in league one Legge I am afraid is out of his comfort zone.Don't get me wrong Leon has been great a real good signing for us in my view but his time is now almost up and if I was managing a league two side next season who needed a new right footed centre back Leon would be top of my list.Good luck to Orient they showed why they are in a mess but the team also showed a fighting spirit and from a personal view I enjoy our trips there so if that point keeps them up and we are safe now or later then I am glad they got it and look forward to our visit there next year.

Very enjoyable game with some excellent performances and one what will stay in the memory for some time. The atmosphere was electric and whilst I have a sore throat today it was well worth it. Agree legge did struggle in the second half, but possibly due to a lack of competitive games and due (my only criticism) to us not changing our formation quick enough to cope with Henderson and the three man attack and their four man midfield that they finished the game with. If we had changed earlier we would not have drawn the game. I am a loft fan and agree everybody should let him be, but please not at the expense of Norris who I thought had a good game overall. Some fans behind me just couldn't leave him alone, so I assume they missed his cross for one goal and foul to gain us the penalty. I think he is worth a run in the team as I assume there is a chance we won't have marquis next term. I hope we play with that more attacking formation at home as we are much better going forward than back, we really had them on the ropes as they just weren't expecting us to line up like that. Dack looked much better in a five man midfield as did the overall balance of the team and we can cope with him further forward then with extra help in midfield.
