....Cheats never prosper?
The match was a pretty uneventful affair. They were ahead, TBH Gills players appeared to think they were already on their holidays, the home crowd were happy to see the season out and quite relaxed about being behind. Then County started cheating and timewasting. That ridiculous play acting by their goalkeeper lost them the game IMO. After that and a couple of similar performances from other players, the mood of our players and crowd changed and we were really no longer happy to lose.
Cheating got them relegated. I hope that's a lesson because we've seen too much of that kind of nonsense this season.

You what? '....a pretty uneventful affair'. 'TBH Gills players appeared to think they were already on their holidays....'
Nonsense. You obviously weren't at the game and have just relied on tired old clichés. If you call the chances created, and saves displayed by both 'keepers as 'uneventful', then what you consider good entertainment, God only knows...........

Agree technical about the cheating and all around me said pretty much the same. After the play acting aka cheating I really wanted us to beat them and from the players side of things it seemed to really get to them also. I guess that was what was the fracas was after the final whistle with Cody and Carroll, I hope he told him as much . They got what they deserved at the end if the day and hope they enjoy league two.

Really glad that they have gone down as some of the stand out moments in the game at County was the regular pushes on our forwards at the corners from Carroll. Every time there was that crafty nudge. Perhaps Cody remembers it too and was just reminding him. There was also his gamesmanship at the penalty.

I wasn't at the game which is a shame as one of the funniest things it's possible to witness is a goalie who has previously been strolling around nonchalantly to get the ball back into play, suddenly haring around and ripping the ball out of ballboys' hands because they've gone a goal down.
I feel slightly sorry for the Notts County fans; I was there at Forest when we got relegated and it's a horrendous experience. Still, better them than us.

Do any posters on this forum remember going to Notts County last season where a bride and groom led the two teams out on the pitch.Apparently they had first met at a County game, and been married that morning. The fans gave them a huge round of applause. It was a wonderful occasion, and I wondered if the same thing could, or would happened at Priestfield? Should circumstances permit.

Cossack, yes I was there and I remember the Gills fans singing "You don't know what you're doing" to them.

Me too. That was also the game where the drone flew around the ground. There was a lot of well-wishing from our fans which I don't think you'd get at a premier league game. Can you imagine the same thing happening at a Spurs-Arsenal game?

While the ref seemed slow to get his cards out oif his pocket yesterday.I felt he handed the time wasting really we holding his arm up and pointing at his watch as soon as a county player overstepped the mark.If a player see there is nothing to be gained he is likely to stop.He also let play go on when a Notts player was clearly acting injured.

Seem to remember a newly married couple coming on the pitch at priestfield a few seasons back, but seem to recall the signing was a little bit more x-rated though.
