It's now on the Gillingham web site that Wright's appeal has failed & he will face a 3 match ban. I find this incredible because that was never a red card offence in a million years. I think that this is just the FA/Football League protecting themselves by promoting somebody who is clearly out of his depth in league football. It will be interesting to see if he quietly disappears from the league list, lets hope & pray that we never see this muppet again.

These sort of ref decisions are very rarely if ever changed so I'm not surprised and we have just got to put up with it. Thankfully we have a few good midfielders to step in. As for your comment 'never a red card offence in a million years' this is sadly not true as some refs will issue a red for the slightest of reasons and it might well have been justified in this.
If you look at the video and something I noticed on the night - Josh was giving the ref an 'earful' just before the incident along with Dack and this might have influenced referee Swabey - just a thought. There again, Josh did tackle Madden with one boot showing studs as he lunged and this was probably the trigger that prompted the ref to show a straight red. Who knows, not worth worrying about now as the damage has been done. Move on.

Looking at the replay I think it was a 50:50 call between yellow and red. In these circumstances it's a bit like the umpire's call in cricket. If it's too close to call, then the decision stays with the official. I like the club's response, disappointed but let's just move on.

It's why we have a squad and time for others to step up to the plate

Not quickly enough based on today's performance, missed his bite and vision. Good news loft back on the pitch and whatever people think of him we were playing better with him around.

I think loft is a good role model for the team. I know he has been criticised in the past but his maturity is helpful to the younger players. I am pleased he is back.

We missed Wright badly in mid-field and I agree that we improved considerably once Loft joined the fray. It's fair to say that we missed Luke Norris up front as well. He may not score a lot of goals but his running and strength are real assets.

Yes swingfield, Donnelly looked lost up top alone.
