I don't know what is better, the fact we are able to grind out draws/wins when playing so cack or the fact that somehow, we are top of the league, Still, on the days when it all comes good we will be winning 8-0 haha

Positives - scraped a draw and still top of the league. Fought to the end after a very poor first half. Negatives - poor performance with little football played. Players off the pace by some margin. We looked like boys against men for large periods. JE will need to look seriously at the squad if we are to continue to stay around the top. An old head required our there today who is strong in the tackle, midfield was very lightweight. Will be interesting to read his comments, but I can see similar to the last 3/4 weeks.

Two disappointing performances in the last four days, but four points from six and still two points clear!

Are we playing below par, or is this our normal level following a freakish start? Only time will tell, but at the moment I am not sure,

As I said mid week we definitely need a experienced old head in midfield so many poor performance's in that area today, our passing ability was embarrassing with Morris being one of the main culprits!

I don' think we can ride our luck too much longer. However they say: You have to be good to be lucky, and lucky to be good.

On recent performances we ain't top of the league material, but everybody is upping their game when they play us as leaders and unbeaten at home, but I have to admire the fight as a team as we haven't had that on occasions In the recent past. We seemed to be lacking a leader yesterday and loft coming back may steady the ship. Egan isn't ready for that responsibility ATM and his performances have dropped off a little recently. Prior to him being captain he would be my MOM most weeks, but not topped my list recently.

Don't forget Southend are very much the in form side too with a pretty good away record.
I agree we haven't seen a really good performance in a while but we are getting the results. Would you rather be one of the numerous clubs whose managers have been lamenting that they were the better side...?
Agree re midfield, but Loft made a big difference (not just the goal) Fingers crossed he's back properly fit.
And if he is, Egan loses the arm band which might solve that problem. I'd noticed that too Muppet.
