Justin Edinburgh comments on the game along with yet another disgruntled opposition boss - this time Phil Brown who said: "We were the better team and have come away with only a point.” - now on GillsConnect - tinyurl.com/oom7r4t

From where I was sitting Mr Brown's summing up of the game was much fairer than Mr Edinburgh's. If our young and rather lightweight squad are suffering because they are being outthought and out-muscled by teams containing physically stronger and more experienced players, a couple of players of that type will enable them to keep at or near the top of the league as winter conditions set in. That said, congratulations to the present set of players for refusing to be beaten, even in adversity.

Agree swingfield in general, but a little blame must fall at Browns feet. He went defensive in his play and his substitutions in the last 20 mins and invited gills up the pitch by defending across his 18 yard line. If he had kept faith with his players and the way they were playing for the majority of the game I think they would have held out or even scored another.

What ever is said, thought or done, at the end of the day no team can afford to slow or relax in the face of Gills terrier like opposition, they just do not give up until they are back in the dressing room. When Lofty popped his deliberate goal in several shimpers sunk to their knees, sure they worked hard but they did not have the resilience that is a virtue of the Gills. Give this squad time and some experience feel the best is still to come.

Even a little research would have told Brown that against this team you have to play the full 90+ minutes
They got what they deserved for trying to defend a narrow lead by wasting time imo
