Hi All, Tony Pulis had a good spell here was in charge between 1995-1999, obviously now a Premier League manager with West Brom. Surely no better man than him to keep a team in the Premier League, but does he get the credit he deserves? Here's an article I wrote on why he deserves more respect, hope you like it: Tony Pulis

Good manager and very good at what he does, which is as you state in your article. Problem is can he go to a top side and be as successful with prima donnas and much larger set ups where he may have to curb his tongue, which has been a problem in the past; I think not, but until he gets a chance we can't really say as he may be able to change.

As much as Taylor has been the worst manager in my 40 odd years of following the Gills, Tony Pulis has been by far the best! Gills still hold the best defensive record in a 46 game season in the history of the football league with 20 goals conceded in 1995-96 season ,only surpassed by the great Liverpool side of the 80's which was over a 42 game season. Average goals conceded per game The Gills record is better. No Tony does not get the credit he deserves!

I agree that Tony Pulis was a good manager for us and his record was outstanding, but Keith Peacock achieved as much as Tony Pulis. Also in my opinion Keith's teams were more entertaining.

Keith Peacocks teams were good teans but he never aquired the same respect from his players that Tony Pulis had. I never forget Terrys Cochranes negative comments about Keith one time to me in the Cricketers in Sturdee they stank of no respect,Keith hails from my neck of the woods Barnehurst so I have a soft spot for him because of that but I can never forget the performance at Aldershot that was the cause of his demise ,the Gills players just rolled over in a 6-0 defeat;5-0 at half time, the first half being the worstcI can recall as a Gills fan!

A quick glance at Wikipedia will tell you that Peacock's win percentage was 43.51% while Tony Pulis's was 43.12%. Both pretty close to each other although Sir Keith did it over nearly twice as many games.
Best manager in terms of results since Gerry Summers ? Take a bow - Neil Smillie!! (6 wins out of 10 games).
Worst - Glenn Roeder who only achieved 8 wins in the 37 games he managed us for. Wasn't he supposed to be a future England manager?
Justin's well up there with 51% as of 24th October 2015.
