The top 5 really do not surprise me that much apart from Wigan's amount of course. But the amounts that staggered me more was that of Scunthorpe 112k Blackpool about 80k and Colchester about 70k while Walsall Burton and Gills are among the lowest spenders in our league.
But not really sure how Bury spent nothing at all and signed some of the biggest names in this league.

Agents get used when you change managers as well as players so that could have a bearing on the numbers.
Looking at the table we are roughly where I would expect to be - PS being prudent with the cash as always

What I don't understand is, the player/manager employs the agent, so why do the clubs have to pay agents? I have heard that agents have been known to charge a finders fee. As if clubs don't know where players and managers are. The whole thing stinks! I don't recall Busby, Shankley Nicholson ever needing or paying agents. Except possibly to Italians for Law and Greaves, but then Torino and AC Milan were only too glad to sell.

I think Wigan probably still had money in the bank from their Premier League days and used it to try and avoid a second relegation.

As far as I know Holbrook agents weren't about back then.

I would hazard a guess that a major part of our 27k was the Justin Edinburgh long running move from Newport. Scally would not have had any direct contact and have had to do most of the deal through a agent. Blackpool and Colchester are really the ones that stagger me the most. Each Colchester fan must pay about £1 per game direct to a agent. As for Blackpool given there financial mess I can't see how or why it would be that high. Bury figure simply has to be wrong for me just does not add up at all the players they signed to have spent nothing at all.
