I think it's good that he's supporting the players publically, I hate it when managers put all the blame on their players, but can only hope that what's been said privately is completely different because the score did reflect the performance (could have been much worse) and I didn't see any grit etc from the players

The stats are a true reflection of the game as I saw it. Justin must have had his rose tinted spectacles on. I do wish managers would be frank with their paying public.

I thought there was fight and Commitment second half so dont totally disagree with JE. Possession stat expected with 10 men, but as other post damage was done when loft went and that should be what he was saying.

While I would agree that the stats do not back Edinburgh what they do not show and Edinburgh can't comment on is the fact that the ref got involved in the game and affected it big time. He wasn't giving any balance some of his decisions were comical Burton used the fact that by rolling around they could stop Dack and others from tackling them. The whole thing was a joke. Some ask for Edinburgh to be straight well. Frankly he can't. The players did stay focused. It is my belief that many more senior pros would have lost it given the same situation. Andy Hessenthaler for example may well have taken matters to far given that Refereeing performance. While lads like his son Jake and Justin himself kept their cool. Having seen the film clearly Loft had to go. But it is also clear he was like other Gills players fouled. The foul count is a example that is wrong as he was giving them a free kick for the same offence he would let go for them. Can anyone really tell me that guys like Andy Hess, Barry Ashby and many many others would have kept themselves in check. Loft clearly lost it maybe shouldn't have bit it is sometimes the senior pros that find themselves leading the young players when the game become a battle against the referee as much a the team you are facing.

I hate this statement but its down to 'game management',its not just about scoring goals its knowing when to cheat,Mouriniho and the Italians have been masters of that for years! I personally hate it but thats what won the game for Burton on Saturday!
Loft though is a liability and I would like to see him transfered from our club!

Stats a part, thought that 10 men did not drop their heads, holding them to one nil until the last knockings,IMO score line flattered the leaque leaders who should be ashamed of their amateur dramatic tatics. As for the ref., what can you say,not even a speaking to the Diva's rolling allover the place in agony and then recovery miracously when awarded nothing on at least three maybe four occassions. Still its gone and done still fourth, more games to come, onward and upward. COYG
