A key win vs a bogey team for us. I expected a draw or a loss as this has been the type of fixture we lose during a decent spell. Not today though and not these Gills. Gritty victory maybe - will wait for the match report. In the meantime those around us win too so we only keep pace with Burton and Walsall. Coventry drop two points so we are alone in 3rd for now. Totally agree with you sunny boy. Although with a big crowd once again and a less than brilliant performance for most of the match, and with most of the possession going to Colchester I was beginning to get worried. It is the scoreline that counts and the goal eventually sorted that out. Overall a very good Christmas for The Gills roll on Saturday. COYG

Great result even though we didn't deserve it, but win when you dont play well is a sign of a good team. As you say Jan 9 points is a great Xmas return. Some pretty average performances, but thought ehmer did really well after a long time bench warming, Morris was v good in midfield and those two saves late on from Nelson were exceptional. As to Egans 45 harder if that was 2 inches lower we would have seen goal of the season without doubt.

That is available very fair assessment folks. Not a great performance but after the magnificent show at Swindon where we worked so hard for 95 minutes to go again with much the same side 2 days later was always a risk. I agree reference Nelson's wonder saves. Morris my man of the match and the only outfield player who to his credit improved on his already good performance at Swindon. This team attitude again was just enough. Could turn out to be a very important 3 points come May.

A great team effort. Stuart Nelson probably had his best game so far this season, and I thought he should have been Man of the Match. An entertaining game, and those in attendance had a good treat.

My feelings as this game approached were those of trepidation, never like it when we meet teams that on paper we should be comfortable with.Colchester proved the point, playing like they did yesterday belies their league position, or possibly, high lights the tightness of the league.Needless to say delighted with 3 points

Been away for a few weeks ill and what not, but have been reading from afar, Gills going brilliantly still, can't believe we have 47 points going in to Jan and a 10 point cushion in the play offs, great times, keep it up gills
