Very poor to loose in such a way again. Should not loose after being 2-0 up. Our wing backs are very poor. Jackson is only good for his long throws and Garmston is not league 1 standard. Morris is poor in mid field we will need a striker to help out for the rest of the season. Still its not the end of the world and 10 more wins from the last 20 games will see us up there.

I can't believe what I'm reading this morning - I go to all home and aeY games and was there last night - sure we are all pissed off but these guys are second in the league with a piss poor budget they are playing Way above there rightful position they amassed 50 points and just attained 4 wins out if 4 yes they are flat - our excellent keeper made one howler last night and they nicked it in the 96 minute . Our boys were totally knackered and ran and pressed all night To say they are not at this level you guys are incredibly fickle - this is sport no one has a divine right to winning every game odd querks occur from time to time get real and get behind your team. This is a good team and decent squad listen to how the pundits were raving about our success story so far. Wigan did there homework on us last night which is a hell of a compliment to us to stop us playing our natural game .- teams are worried about us and we are going to concede with our wingback game we could have s ores 3/4 goals last night with a bit more luck but you guys can't see this and now want wholesale changes Nobody means about dack when he misses a few sitters because he's a forward but give nelson a break . Our players play like they do because JED wants it this way !

"Very poor to loose in such a way again"
Really? That makes a grand total of six defeats all season, as Evo says against clubs with much bigger budgets. I sometimes think I live in a parallel universe.
Disappointing on the night yes, but some of these reactions are really OTT.

You clearly haven't been to any of Gills other matches. One of the main reasons we are where we are is exactly because of Garmston and Jackson and believe you me Jackson is not all about a long throw ! these boys have pace and power in abundance and are two of the best fullbacks in this league and will continue to improve. Its interesting to note that they both have had enquiries and are being watched by championship clubs ad this has come from a good source that works within the club. Of course clubs will; be looking at our players we are where we are for a reason and we are not just about Bradley dack !

Since i have been going to the gills since 1968 i think i have seen a fair few wing backs or full backs what ever you want to call them and these two are not the best. By getting some new faces in it creates more competition for places and brings the best out of players.Like i said 10 wins from the last 20 games will keep us in the hunt.

The way we play means our full backs have to cover a massive amount of ground.Blame the manager silly idea using Bradley Dack behind the forwards.Daft we haven't scored far more goals after all the most in the whole league is nowhere near good enough. Our full backs double up as wingers they are both quick. We have faults but JED has unlike Taylor built on our strength's. We are still second.I am sure Justin would love another forward and more defensive cover andi am sure we will have at least one or two more in.But please give Justin credit for knowing better what to do than we do after the odd defeat. He has had to deal with it before and will do again. I stopped writing or reading news on Thursday night or Friday as I knew most would be rubbish. Time some fans backed the manager and players we have.Yes there are a few better players in the football league and premier league. But this is one of the best sides and managers we have had in our 122 year history. If you disagree then look at the history of this club.Having not spent any money we have a chance of be promoted to the championship that not sure that has ever happened before not for us.
Justin Edinburgh has done a great job for Gillingham football club.If you really support the gills then back the best manager we have had in years and give him credit for the work he has done and is about to do.
That does stop you having a view just get real I would like to think I could manage a team but in the real world we are all totally out of our depth Justin clearly isnt .
Rant over.Personally I am more angered by some so-called fans than I was by the team on Thursday night.

Statotheblue - well said that man. Why so much negativity over one close defeat ? The reality is that the general view amongst the commentators was that this was a fine advert for league 1 football between two good teams. What would supporters really want ? The manager to go into panic mode and get a couple of players in and thereby tell some of the current squad that they're not good enough ? Or would you prefer the manager to say lets bounce back like the last time we lost and win the next 4 ? I know which one I would prefer.

Statho and WAldo some very good commonsense. Nobody cant deny that they havent been entertained by this side. Yes it is a very very good side and JED and his team has done very well. I think if we won all 46 games there would still be some that would say the players arent good enough to make it at a higher level or JED doesnt know what he is doing etc. They would even moan JED and Scally bought in the Barcelona squad to play at Priestfield and got rid of all our team !!

I must admit I was disappointed in the stick Jackson has received to me the amount of ground he covered on Thursday night was impressive he was even featuring in central midfield! I will reiterate though we need a leader on the field I love Wrights commitment so if we can't bring experience in give the captaincy to him. Also the next two games are going to be a massive test of our character against Donny we have a fantastic record but they are scoring for fun and Peterborough over the last decade have been a high scoring team that promises to be a mouth watering home fixture,if we can get 4 points in our next two matches I will be happy!

In an ideal world keith some new faces and competition for places is certainly a good thing, maybe you are right Garmston and Jackson may not be the best, but Garmston is still young with Jackson a bit older but both are improving in an improving squad and both have had some dam good games this season. A controlling factor in obtaining "new faces" to increase competition for places is of course Budget, whilst I do not pretend to know the extent of our budget it is generally accepted to be substantially lower than that of a lot of our competition. Whilst some may not always agree with your views Keith, keep coming back, new faces always welcome on the site, it costs not, and makes for more varied/lively discussion

It may well have been said before, but, almost every Gills fan would have grabbed the offer of second place in January. Just put your trust in JED, and enjoy the ride. Most of us hoped for a top ten finish at best so relax and see what happens,
