Not sure anybody is directly blaming mcglashen for the loss today, I'm certainly not, more the decision to bring him on at that stage of the game. As to comparisons, barcham every time for me and by some margin. Agree he had a good game last season against Coventry and can be a handful, but that was last season and for me to inconsistent and a player I put in the luxury bracket.

Its not one players fault ie McGlashan, its just down to poor game management! I reiterate I hate the fact that Burton are top of the league with their dubious tatics but their overall game managemwnt is bringing success!

Further to comments on this thread and having read IBlues excellent game report it is clear we blew these two points by not managing the game tactically. With another two goal lead and then a one goal lead to protect we went to pieces and began hacking the ball away. This is a game of possession and if we have the ball they don't. Calmness, making space to receive the ball, simple passes - back, forward, sideways - to keep the ball. Aware that Doncaster refreshed players to unsettle us. We should have done the same and if players are out of gas, change them but change them to hold the 2 to zero advantage. On field leadership is especially needed in the last 20 minutes and evidently we don't have that yet. COYG.

Reading the above none of the comments are knee jerk reactions they are from passionate fans who really want their team to do well. Iblues match report sums up the game well and without a doubt we allowed the game to be taken away from us therefore missing out on 3 full points.

i think edinburgh is a decent manager and its not as though we have lost the game but from being in a winning position and then to surrender a 2 goal lead at any level of football is disappointing to say the least, it will be interesting to see if we take the lead v peterborough how we plan we manage the rest of the match, we are starting well in games now , so lets finish them strongly or make it difficult for opponents to break us down when we hold 1 or 2 goal leads.
we are close to being a very good team in this division, lets cut out the silly mistakes and promotion is a strong possiblilty without the need for the play-offs.
come on you gills !!!!

I don't want to get on McGlashan's case (though he has very few games in which he's effective), it's JE's withdrawal of Wright which drives me mad. He and Dack are outstanding in midfield, especially away from home, and I cannot see the case for subbing either of them unless they're injured. We just need to keep our best players on the pitch to have a chance of holding on to these leads.
