This story and the other one about hunting for the next Jamie Vardy a few weeks ago makes me Wonder if we are going to make a move for a non league forward.Moses Bromley,Dennis Stockport/Macclesfield are likely to be league targets. But they are the ones that are up there in !ights so will attract a lot of interest. Also both are in their mid twenties so if we are going to have another dip in non league I would guess it could be deeper hidden than that.High risk with promotion at stake. But if we are taking fourth choice IE a replacement for Williamson it maybe a risk worth taking. Justin clearly knows what to look for and there is talent that has been missed out there.I have often wondered why we so rarely seem to produce a striker of our own.Thinking who was the last one who came through the youth ranks. If you discount wingers and attacking midfielders I have a feeling it is a few years indeed since we have brought a league class striker through the ranks. Anyone got any idea the last Gills youth who let's say scored 50+ league goals in his career?

46 League goals and 9 in his Cup games during his 542 total appearances for the Gills. Fantastic servant for the Gills when playing in both defence and attack during his time at Priestfield between 1974-1989

I know Mark Weatherly played almost everywhere for Gillingham but it would be hard to argue that he was a striker. I would guess over half of his goals would have come playing elsewhere. But even if he does count it is a very long time ago indeed . I have to ask the question why when we clearly do well in every other position? Maybe this is a job for our own Steve Lovell come on Steve time to find a lad that can be developed into a modern day Lovell.

Steve Bruce beats him on goals scored with a impressive career total of eighty one league goals not a bad tally for someone who spent almost all his career at central defender.29 for gills not sure we have a striker that betters that since.

In staying that Bradley could top the lot in terms of goals from players originally from our youth set up.Let's hope he gets a chance to be our highest ever home grown league goal getter while still at Gills.
