bringing in george williams is the clearest indication yet that luke norris will be a bench warmer from now on till the end of the season, its better if he went on loan to get a regular game time because i don't considered him a starting eleven player and if we get promoted he won't get anywhere near the first team next season in my opinion and i have seen george play on t.v for wales before and from hearing some of my welsh friends in cardiff, they say he is decent aquisition and played full international level already. he will prove to be a hit very soon and will enhance our team and its a shame its taken this long for JED to realise that norris is not good enough to hold down a place in this upwardly mobile gills team,
i think JED has made a really shrewd signing here and i'm sure he will be playing regularly for us till the end of the season and hopefully leading to automatic promotion.

What on earth has the signing of a lad who is clearly not a out and out striker to do with Norris.I have to admit I have not seen him p!ay but given what I have read George is like!y to play a similar roll to Dack. That means the players who is most likely to lose his place is those closer to that roll.To me that would be Donnelly or a wide midfielder because it is very unlikely that we would leave Dack himself out. Using Williams to hit Norris with is clearly just in your mind. While it is true that Norris maybe a present a back up to Samuel things change quickly in football. He has also been used alongside Samuel and will be again when Justin feels he needs him. As for next season Norris isn't under contract. We are not as yet in the Championship so your whole argument is based on what if's and a clear lack of support for a valued member of the squad.
Mr Edinburgh clearly values every member of the squad that is why they all roll up their sleeves and do their best for him every game.
Justin picks the team he clearly sees a value in using Norris time you and others respected that.
Nothing is sorted for next season and can't be until we know where we will be.Coming on here with a the purpose of damaging a squad member when the whole squad are fighting hard to get us promotion is totally out of order.

In Justin Edinburgh's words"Don't let this opportunity pass us by".Together we can do this.Damaging individual players however slight could tip the balance. This is a very tight league promotion could well be really close we need everybody onside for the final push.

Sorry 888, but you really have Norris wrong. At the sort of the sason he was playing exceptionally well and as others have pointed out with him playing we were on our best winning streak and gaining more points per game than when he doesn't play. He was out injured for 6 weeks or so, so give him a chance to get back into it.

Fortunately 888 what you "consider" has no bearing on Justin's opinions and will probably not find agreement from the majority of other poster either.

stato ... i'm sorry but i have a opinion and i have that right to express how i feel, JED will use norris when he feels the need to but i can't see him frequently starting, if he plays i will support him all the way but deep down i can't see being considered first choice.
i know whatever happens from now till the end of the season we are looking very good indeed and getting back into the championship would be heaven and i'm very proud to support gillingham and will be taking 2 gills jerseys for my brother and my dad to wear in hong kong.

Sure you have the right to give Norris and others a hard time. But do you honesty think it is helping our promotion chances.Justin is doing a really tough job.You and others are not making it any easier.
Leave it Justin.
Let Justin hire and fire.
Regardless of weather Norris,Cody ,Dack,Hess,Egan and the rest of the squad are in Justin's plans long or short term its his job he is good at it.Even if Norris or anyone else only has a few more games for Gills we still need them at there best.Your dismissal of our player is both wrong and unnecessary.
What I believe Justin wants and has is a versatile squad. That mostly have fight for places.Including everyone showing he values everyone.

Norris was a much improved player before his bad injury and according to JE he amazed everybody at the club by working so hard to regain fitness weeks before anticipated. That shows how much he loves the club and his ambition to do his best for it. Of course, getting a reputation for loyalty won't do his career any harm either. It is most unfair to attack a young player who is struggling to make his mark in a very hard and competitive field when encouragement will be of much more value to him and the club. Good luck to all the lads, keep working hard and we'll be there ore thereabouts at the end of the season. Who would have imagined that at the beginning of last August.

888 you may not want to hear this but it is possible that Williams coming in could mean Norris makes more appearance's as looking at him I can see him and Dack playing behind a single front man as a plan B. Maybe at first. Most likely to be Samuel starting but because he is very likely to be overworked he would need to be changed after about a hour.Enter Luke Norris and I really hope that he proves you wrong.Like Donnelly he is a confidence player who at this time needs a goal.

888, when interviewed today, Steve Lovell said that the club has no interest in further recruitment during this loan window and that the club would prefer to operate with a fairly small squad. What this implies is that all the squad are likely to play some part in the last 15 games whether it is in the starting line up or coming on from the bench. Every club needs players that can change things during the course of a match. Dickenson, Mcglashan, Loft, Norris, Hessenthaler have all come on at different times and made a noticeable improvement to our play. It is not just about the starting eleven, it is about the squad and the fact that they all are likely to have a role to play. That's why we should get behind all of our players.
