Good story. Thanks, IBlue. No surprise to me as I have often wondered why a Bristol team has never hit the heights. It's a big city with an even bigger catchment area but very limited competition. We have the close proximity of London clubs to make us less attractive to a takeover. I wish Bristol Rovers well and hope they achieve their dream of Premier League football some day.

Cheers I-blue. Another opportunity gone. Was it ever an opportunity? All it said was they also looked at Gillingham, nothing about talks or making an offer. One look at the size of the city and the lack of league competition in the area, it became obvious where to invest. The nearest Premier League clubs are over 70 miles away, Chelsea are less than 40 from us. Medway has a population of about 270,000, against Bristol of 442.000 from a business point of view it was simple.
