Thanks Iblue agree with this. Also amongst others Crofts had a stinker of a game last night.

I agree with the injury with El-Abd changed the game in the second half but how about the fact Gills should have been 2-0 up before Norris's penalty miss! The last hour we were a shambles but we certainly were not for the first half hour. Sadly along with the penalty miss the game was lost because other than Adam El-Abd our loan players did not seem to fit in our team unit last night one in particular Odhilaja seemed to be playing for himself, that is the problem with loanees!

Thought Garmston did not look very committed right from the pre-match warm up onwards, just did not appear to want to get up and go.

My daughter loves him but I only commented to her last night that he was extremely quiet! To be honest only El abd out of the loanees looked committed last night, even local lad Crofts was poor!

Cheers I-blue a very good and correct report. Whilst I have read in numerous posts attacks on various individuals who didn't perform and I do agree some had stinkers, for me they weren't the major issue. Whilst this won't be popular, my big issue was with JE and his lack of tactics, poor formations and substitutions and this has been evident on and off for 2 months. Last night we started brightly, but I at no point felt comfortable. The penalty did change things and my first point is why did Norris take it. Dack takes our pens and this should be agreed on the training ground and confirmed by JE with no need for discussion on the pitch. We played with wing backs to spread play wide and get balls into the danger area, I can remember 2 crosses all night. I could have steered a super tanker through midfield last night, as other games recently, but at no point or until to late did this get addressed. Before Xmas we were winning because we 1) pressed high and as a team. Last night we pressed up top but nothing followed behind so leaving the huge midfield gap. You press or you don't. 2) every time we got the ball we worked for each other, made angles and on most occasions had 2/3 passes to make. Nobody shows for a pass at the moment, the movement off the ball is non existent and due to formations send changes. 3) we are sitting 20 yards deeper from the start of games giving opposition space and time, we didn't earlier in the season. 4) JE was great at playing our game and dictating it on opposing - being proactive with his game plan. Now he is reactive and tailoring his team to play against the opposition meaning we are not playing to our strengths. I could go on. The coaching team need to look back at the games from pre Xmas and revert to those plans as then we looked a team more than capable of beating all in this league. If we do, we should make the play offs.
