Without doubt another dreadful performance and loud boos ringing around Priestfield as the final whistle went. The majority of Gills fans wouldn't mind so much if they saw real effort from the team but this was definately not evident. A total waste of money, time and effort to go and watch.
It wasn't as if Walsall were a good side either having won only one of their last ten or so in the league. We gifted them three goals from woeful defensive mistakes and a must win league match is now looming against Accrington.
In attack Gills were lacking ideas and creative spark and I only counted one genuine shot on target. Nobody warrants MoM Award and if I was manager would drop the lot. Some supporters around me said players were 'saving themselves for the FA Cup' - if this was the case they have their priorities all wrong. Unfortunately the real reason was that they played like a pub team without a leader both on and off the pitch.
Sparse crowd inside Priestfield who gave the loudest cheers to returning winger Matt Jarvis who showed flashes of brilliance. Why didn't Gills get him in on loan?

Here we go again, and some of you ask why I don't want Lovell, he can't find defenders and if he could he couldn't get them to defend! Pathetic, who's supposed to be marking Cook in the box, he never scores more than one for goodness sake! Angry.

Why would he join a pub team like us ? We not pulling up any trees in the league and look definite candidates for a relegation scrap.
Our defensive frailties have consistently been our achillies heel this season under Lovell and nothing will change whilst he is here.

Quite right, we really are pathetic aren't we, we have below standard players with a below standard manager, when are we gonna change it and how can the usual suspects on here justify this utter c**p is beyond me! Lovell says our squad is good enough, really? The boos at Priestfield told the story and I'll take no nonsense from Scally about encouragement from fans, just WHAT have they got to be encouraged themselves about. I'd be surprised if Lovell and Scally didn't get stick today, not justified mind you humanly but how else will Scally get the message.

We would struggle to beat the other Kent teams in the National League on this showing.

I was speaking to someone at the game who knows one of our scouts. Lovell is sending him out to non league and his latest assignment was to watch 2 Bromley players he’s already told Lovell aren’t good enough. Apparently Lovell thinks they might be. Either our chairman has us shopping in the bargain basement for rubbish like Rees or our manager hasn’t got a clue.

Well, look at Lovells comments, he's back to blaming the players again, that's what he did last time, he and Mark Patterson are doing everything right it seems, it's the players fault. I wonder if he's thought to himself, 'are they good enough for one and, no they're not, so I'll need to get a wise head in the middle who can lead and dictate,' 'So I'll go to Bromley and see what they've got!' Or maybe 'I can't coach or manage.' This is really terrible and I defy the usual suspects to come on here and defend it.

I’ve already used shambolic this season so I’ll go for pitiful or pathetic.
The stats may say something else but we were abysmal.
I arrived 10 mins late only for the first thing I saw was a complete free header in the middle of the goal just by the six yard box put us 0-1 down. Before the 20th minute struck it was 0-2 another very simple free header at the back post from a yard out from a chipped cross from Jarvis!!!!!
Where was the bloody marking it was non existent and it was so bad I can’t even tell you which players or players were at fault as no one was in the picture .
It was no surprise we went 0-3 down within 5 mins of the start of the second half another simple goal from a a couple of yards out for Cook . Probably his easiest hat trick ever .
The decision making today was pathetic it looked like these players have never played with each other before and ok he did not make the mistake of hoofing the ball up to List when he was the front man but our efforts to play out from the back were without clue.
Biggest cheer of the day was the first and only shot on goal which came in the 70th minute .
Like the last dreadful performance motm went to the player who did least wrong as in Byrne. Zakuani also did ok presuming that is he was not meant to be marking cook !!!!!
A good round of applause for Jarvis as he departed in about the 75th minute and that was that.
Cant wait for the next home game ....... or can I !!!!!!!

Absolutely abysmal performance
The team selection, formation and tactics were all wrong.
The players were lazy, lacking any sort of fight or determination.
They were incapable of passing the ball, every time the midfield or defence got the ball the first thing they did was pass it back to Holy.
Why Josh Parker still starts games is a mystery, he has been sent home once and already had a spell out of the first team, he can be good, but he is mainly mainly lazy and uninterested.
At the end we had 4 forwards on the pitch, and still count get 1 goal.
Lovell just seemed to stand there with his hand in his pockets oblivious to what was going on
We are 1 point and 4 places from the drop, Lovell needs to sort the team out.

He'll see us through the Cup match and when we get knocked out he can be off, the boos say it all, that's what always happens before a manager goes and it's getting very, very tiresome and if Lovell does unearth someone on loan all well and good but can he use them? I think not, he needs to go asap and if Scally gets much more abuse, he will act.

Nothing else left to say a poor poor performance, can not single out where we were weakest just nothing impressed, was good to see Matt Jarvis showing flashes of how it's done.

Donut...your right, after the cup game would be a good time for a change. Lovell has not been able to get the best out of his squad his of players and we are all getting tired of the excuses and once against the attendance figures withheld again.
The club is a mess from top to bottom and without clear leadership and any prospect of success on the horizon. It does feel like the club is nowhere but down at the moment and crowds have dropped off for a reason.
I got three tickets for the Swansea game but not really feeling excited in anyway but I just don't have any faith in our manager.
Like I said in previous posts if we stick with Lovell, we are gonna lost 10 games minimum at home because we are just to easy to play against.
We need to do what Ebbsfllet did and that was replace their previous manager with a new man and just look at the transformation under Gary Hill, it has been nothing short of spectacular and they beat Leyton Orient too. We need renewed optimism, change of approach because current we are one of the 6 worst teams in the division and firmly believe if a new manager came in then we have a much better chance of surviving and possibly finish mid table.
