Donut, you can view the “incident” here www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/sport/ehmer-bewildered-over-refereeing-as-gillingham-beaten-at-new-301965/The more I look, the less of a pen it is. Ehmer has thrown himself theatrically to the floor with minimal contact, even though the first contact is from him and he has zero chance of reaching the ball. Sorry, anyone who thinks it’s a pen has blue glasses on and is embarassing themselves. The fact that was the best chance of us getting something from the game says it all Yep,see it now, I had to look a few times. Yes it IS a pen in my opinion Hess, and these should be given, he impeded Max from meeting the ball. Bit more to it though, Max is always doing it, all Centre Halves are always doing its cos they don't want the attacker to steal a march on them and therefore in truth it should be stamped out. Never used to see it. Probably won't be cos I reckon its all agreed at the top echelons and it's all about money and big clubs having their way. Frankly I think it would be more entertaining if they stopped it, gave penalties and sent people off. Like GF I think it wouldn't take long before they stopped doing it. Difficult to do of course but if you have no will there will be no way. They could stop it if they wanted to with what's at our fingertips but they don't want to. However I wouldn't jump on that bandwagon of what if and if only, we didn't get the penalty, from what I saw we strolled around, and let crosses in which they should have coached out of us and I didnt see much pressing. Fits and starts, inconsistent, no constant urgency, what do we expect? We know they are somewhat capable but seemingly not all the time, they should be fit. That's what I would look at, we lost because we either didn't care enough, weren't good enough, or both. Penalty is a tiny event compared to that. I said to myself I wasnt gonna watch Stockport after Swindon and Newport and yet I will and frankly I expect nothing different...sad.

Stevolution- are you going to be complaining that Ogie and Max weren’t penalised in the first half last night? Ogie almost had the Stockport player’s shirt off?

If it's the same as this (I've not seen it), then I won't complain as I'm a gills fan. Why would I complain?

Because you were very quick to say that shirt pulling needs stamping out and penalties should be given. By that token, Stockport should have been given 2 first half penalties last night.

Of course if they were a clear pulling of a shirt or wrestling they should have been given. I did notice Hawkins’s dragged over in the penalty area scramble which was also ignored. So maybe 2-1 on penalties to Stockport. More exciting than 0-0. Having said that I understand the game plan to not lose the match. 1 point is better than none. Lack of quality forwards is still a massive problem, especially with injuries hampering the squad,

On that, grey fox, we’ll agree. It appears to me that Clemence has weakened the forward line in January and doesn’t even trust one of his own signings in Walker

No, neither Mahoney, don't blame him there! Walker probably wasn't his, it was those upstairs, surely a lack of proper research, we seem to just say, oh that might be a good idea, with really no idea at all. Our forward line is no better just a bit more willing possibly. Don't seem like we were relying on Hurtado, too raw and not Andrews, pre empt buy who was injured. So Clarke and Walker is as good as it gets with the hoof up to Hawkins when it fails. If he's gonna do that he has to get some of the midfielders up to pick up the loose ball. Defenders too, who have enough to do. Not good.
