Hi there - AFC Wimbledon fan coming in peace !
I contribute content to the official matchday programme at AFC Wimbledon as a volunteer – we sell them all around the ground including the away end and club shop on matchdays for £3.
This season we are getting away fans to contribute their thoughts too – to give an alternative perspective for the programme.
So, I am looking for someone to write up to 1000 words on Gillingham’s season so far for inclusion in our programme for the game against Wimbledon at Plough Lane on 12th March.
What you write (about football) in the article is up to you - we only edit grammar mistakes !
If you are interested - please email me m.lewis@hgluk.com and I will get back in touch.
Many thanks
Mark

We found it amusing that one of your team videoed the Priestfield match along his Pikey Bastards excitement. Do you know him? If so tell him we find it amusing and it makes him look silly so knock it off!

Write something like this .....The arrival of Mr.Bradly Galinson, Gillingham Football Clubs new owner just before Christmas of 2022,led to the Gills survival in Division Two when he signed an almost entire new team during the Winter Transfer Period and Gillingham Football Club was saved from being relegated, giving everyone new hope of better days to come. Kind of deja vu to what happened back in 1995 when Paul Scally bought the club. By the time last season ended a bright new future was on the horizon,we all thought new players would come in over the summer, the occasional "big name" was being mentioned at the local watering holes around town. Season tickets were being snapped up as fast as they could be printed, promotion back to the First Division was the talk of the town after all it was coming from the new owners own mouth . But during the summer transfer window everything seemed to come to a grinding halt, but eventually the Gills bought in a couple of players and the season started off well. We were in third place when the owner took the advice of the old management team ,that amazingly were still in place, after spending the season before dragging us into the relegation zone, and they advised him to fire the manager, even though there was no replacement in place, so he did. Obviously our new owner not having a clue on whom to hire as the new manager listened to the Management Team who bought in an inexperienced Manager,or Head Coach as the Americans call there Managers, when a firm hand was needed to keep us in the promotion hunt . A lot of the supporters thought that being on the fringe of the promotion race the Gills millionaire owner would open his check book, bring in some on loan players, and "a name or two " ,this past winter , but he didn't,so the fan base is left guessing what comes next. The owner obviously feels he has done just enough to buy himself another year in which to decide if he did the right thing in buying Gillingham Football Club, or was he just trying to prove he could do better than his countrymen who purchased Wrexham ? Another 12th position finish this year is looking on the cards I do believe.
