They look favourites on form but you never can tell. My bet on Crawley on good odds is still on until Saturday, we could help by turning over Doncaster which we could do but my feeling is, as usual, when faced with an overwhelming task, we won't. So a limp end is predicted in all directions except for Donny who've done well with Adelukan who Cowley described as the best wide player in League two. Astonishing isn't it? Wish I'd seen it when he was with us. Why is it that we turn all Strikers into shaking wrecks?

Didn't put it all in. Clemence has to take the blame for that

You could say the same of so many of the squad - class acts when they came to us, massively under delivering.
As for the Donny game, won't be going, don't care. Roll on next season. I suppose the only interest is how low in the league we'll finish?

Yeah I was joking. I know all too well it was last season. The FA Cup goal was good, that was about it

What a final day, so many good games and such a shame we are not involved in it. I can see the Gills going down 0-3 or even 0-4,only thing they can possibly be playing for is a new contract and I think most of them out of contract in a few weeks are gone anyway. The Crewe and Colchester game could be fun. I think Crewe can win it but it could be close. Barrow and Newport have both completely fallen to pieces , so Mansfield and Bradford I think get the win, and even a win by Walsall is not going to get them promoted, so I think I can see Crawley getting into the the last place for the playoffs. It really is scary when you look at the top three's goals scored, don't quiet know where we are going to find two forwards who can score 15 to 20 goals each

Can only see Doncaster winning this game.
They are much better than us on form hoping this is Clemence's last game in charge.
We have the worst strike force in the division and losing 2-0 or 3-0 is a very sensible outcome

Meanwhile, it seems to me that Mahoney will be here next season. S Williams won't, neither will Malone, Clarke, Clark, Walker, Lapslie and Morris. Possibly neither will Max, I would favour trying to get Raggett instead. So 5 or 6 already out, about right I reckon.

Sorry forgot also out, Hawkins and Nadesan. Surely all these players were never good enough committed enough, skillful enough, nous enough. Add to that the toxicity on the club commented on recently by Pulis and it was never gonna work. Did for a while under Harris but there was no mileage in him.

Against my better judgement, I did watch it. We were awful first half. Doncaster looked a class above, confident on the ball while we hoofed it to Andrews, who in my view should have been sent off for a very reckless challenge. At half time, I thought we’d lose 4, maybe 5 nil. I think Clemence had a proper strop at half time. He came out early and there seemed to be more desire. An absolute howler defensively led to a red card and there was only one team in it from then. Probably deserved to win the game from there, but a draw a fair result on the basis each team won a half. I thought Johnny Williams was excellent - buzzing around, creating. I’d like to see more of that next season. The Ogie experiment at left back looked awful in the first half, inspired in the second. I’m assuming it means Clemence has no confidence in either left back. A busy summer awaits with us needing a goalkeeper, central defensive cover, I’m assuming a left back, a midfield general, pace and goals.

Once again I felt Clem was lucky with another sending off. Also agree that we were lucky not to lose Andrews to a red. It could have been 4 or 5 had the keeper not lost his head. But... you can only beat what is in front of you and for the last 30 mins or so we almost went and won it. However 2 home wins in 2024 and 5 in total for Clem is not good enough. The statement from BG and Clem about just a few tweaks concerns me. Allen when he took over had a squad that needed a few tweaks, but this team needs a lot more than that, so based on the evidence of yesterday and the past few months here goes... We need another keeper(not the biggest priority), both are OK but not top top drawer. Another cb, with pace, especially if we insist on playing 3 at the back we need cover A left back, clearly he doesn't fancy Clark. 2 proactive central midfielders like that chap in the middle for Donny yesterday who is prepared to take the ball on and not pass it sideways. Presuming Jefferies(please don't!) and Mahoney (not fussed) leave a couple of decent wide players. Finally at least 2 strikers, not ending with walker who can be the real deal and get 15-20 goals.
Also some bloody leaders, yes Max gives a shite, but we need someone like a Hess, Barrett or Martin who are prepared to drag this team up and out of the league. My only issue with this is that Clem seems to like younger players and clearly didn't like his authority questioned by some of the senior pros now jettisoned. Interesting summer ahead, could even be an interesting week ahead. Utg everyone

I am so surprised about the ambivalence to Mahoney. Top goalscorer, top assists, played out of position by Clemence when he came in. On the other hand, Jefferies 1 goal and 2 assists and I say that as someone who likes Dom.

More the fact that Clem will see Dom with potential, he is still very young and Mahoney will have to take a significant wage cut to join us. It's fairly likely that neither of these two will be here next season. Totally get the point about players being played out of position though and if we are going to see more goals and assists from williams he needs to be played more advanced too.
