Can't see us losing this match versus Carlisle.

They are expected to do well this campaign with new owners and some wonga behind them.

We have signed some decent players and ones from non-league look good too.

I realise we’re supposed to give a prediction, but I honestly don’t have a clue.
We’ve signed ok, but have some of this players and other important ones out with injury. I don’t really know what a Bonner side is or how good he is.
They’re quite fancied to do well but we have a good record against them at home and a lousy one at their place.
I’ll go 1-1

I thought we were very lucky to be 1-0 up at half time. Turner was hoofing up to the front and the young lad didn’t have a chance. 2nd half, first through ball and he scores. I thought Armani Little was superb, he was all over the place. Nolan played well 2nd half abd scored a cracker. Good start overall but not getting carried away.

It's was a pleasing victory but looking at us critically, we can see that the right side of defence is weak.

Ehmer should not be captain because he is not a leader and the weakest link in the side.

Robbie MacKenzie should be playing every week.

Great atmosphere, every body seemed positive and a fabulous first home game result.
I expected Carlisle to be a strong side and they played well at times.
But 4-1 is an exciting result and the Gills could have added a couple more goals in the last few minutes.
Nolan rounding their keeper, was only denied by a defender making a last second tackle.
At last, a decent attendance didn’t go home disappointed.

Swans, just to be clear, is Turner or Ehmer going to be this seasons player, up for criticism, by you? Just be happy with the result for once.

I am happy with the result but you must agree that Max is the weak link in defence and won't go down in history with the Gills as being a top defender. I don't rate Turner as a goalie, much rather have Morris in goal.

If we could get a decent goalie similar to Jamie Cummings and defender like Cameron Norman @ Tranmere ( more recently at Newport and MK DONS), we would much more solid defensively.

The right side defensively is our weakest area with Ehmer and Hutton.

Hopefully...Coleman will be squad player only this season, too defensive and lacks any influence on the park and chuffed Robbie MacKenzie is back in the side. He should be a starter under Bonner.

Pleasantly surprised with Saturday to say the least.
Thought Carlisle weren't a bad team, but we took some excellent goals really well.
The main points for me were:
1. The general approach to the game, on the front foot, especially at kick off and after half time. We haven't done this for years, certainly under the past 3 managers.
2. Dieng and then Williams being utilised in their correct positions, something that didn't happen last year. Both looked really happy and played with confidence.
3. The new signings.
Obvs, Nolan looks like the player many other teams wanted. Little grew into the game and Rowe contributed well. wakeling didn't do a lot, but took his goal really well.

Only a start, but all I wanted to see is a team on the front foot and playing like they were the home team again. If we keep doing that I will be very happy.
