I’ve not been as happy about a signing for god knows how many years.
Yes his body has let him down, no he won’t be the player he was.
But..
The player he was was about to get a premiership move for £30mill and he wasn’t miles off an England call up. He was the best midfielder in the championship.
Just imagine he plays 20 games and he’s 50% of that level. If he does that, we get promoted. If he doesn’t, Bonner assures us the contract protects us.
Other thing is that Hoolahan got Bonner promoted before- a 37 year old at the end of his career with fitness issues. I’m sure he sees Dack as his Hoolahan cheat card.
