Hopefully another smash and grab.

Who do we think in the Gills squad qualifies as a smasher and/or a grabber ? I guess both keepers would be in the latter group !

Reads like we were under a lot of pressure, but can’t argue with an away draw and clean sheet. Well done all.

Top of the league with some big guns due back soon up front. Can’t complain. I still don’t understand how Jordan Clarke gets a game.

Important point today in the context that we lacked the quality and threat up top.
Jayden Clarke is nowhere near the first team squad in my opinion and Bonner will realise this very soon.

If you’d offered me 7 from 9, I’d have bitten your arm off. Clearly still lack quality up front, but hopefully when players come back from injury, we’ll be in a better place.

Bonner seems like a very level headed and astute manager - so why TF does he keep playing Clarke ?.

Bonner seems like a very level headed and astute manager - so why TF does he keep playing Clarke ?. Everyone's saying it, I can only think of defensive duties, he left Rowe out, but then he also left Williams out. A bit odd really. Nolan wasnt good, we were on the defensive, not as offensive as I'd hoped but maybe it will improve with Dack, and the other two. But why leave Williams out...more defensive away performance?

Any away point is welcome, hopefully the squad will get stronger when the injuries clear in the next few games and scoring doesn’t become a problem away from home again.
Dreadful miss by Clarke, he won’t get many chances like that again. Probably make way when the other forwards get fit. The only way to keep his place, is to take those chances and make it difficult to leave him out.
Was Hawkings injured? not picked? is a transfer is eminent? I haven’t seen any reason why he wasn’t on the bench yesterday after a good showing in the last couple of games. .

Why tf he keep playing Clarke ?..he won't be in first eleven when squad injuries clean up.
This also applies to Ogie who is also a weak defensively.
Ehmer is very borderline too and will never make it into Gills best player list.
I hope Bonner will realise very soon, we are still not the complete team and carrying a player or two in each game at the moment.

We had one of the best defences last season. Ogie was excellent at the weekend. You need to actually start watching some games.

Ogies a great footballer but he will have to continue to Improve defensively and I think he will. I've always had a soft spot for Max because of his commitment, seemingy his love for the club and other parts of his game. His defensive capabilities show up if hes not protected by players in front of him and if too many good crosses come in....but that should not happen in a good team. He's not the best defender weve ever had, for instance he couldn't tie Shipperleys boots. But he will go down as a bit of a legend, the amount of games he's played under good managers including Evans is there for all to see and he has given me a lot of pleasure watching him, many times...no matter what Barton says about him.

I like Max, not even in the top 10 of defenders that I've seen in 40 years. But... he has two main qualities, firstly he clearly gives his all and secondly he plays games and doesn't really get injured or suspended, put simply you can rely on him. If we do get out of this league then I'd keep him as a squad player for another year, but to stay and progress in l1 we would need a greater step up in quality, the same way Pulis was quite ruthless in 96/97 where he basically upgraded our squad. But for this season Max will definitely do. Plus he is a really nice bloke!
