Well what can you say? Totally outplayed, lacking in lots of ways but we scored and won. Happy but far from convinced, Little got on my nerves, as did Wylie. We must get our attackers back and press defences and keep the ball better...very frustrating.

Agree thoroughly outplayed, shouldn’t have won, rode our luck massively. But it was a terrific effort with 10 men in the 2nd half. Ogie and Ehmer were immense right up to Max sending off.
Disagree about Little, he’s exactly what we need in the midfield. Wylie had an excellent debut for a player in National south last season. Lots of injuries it’s going to be a tough few weeks.

Willey looked good. Nice runs into the channels looking to get in behind in the first half. Linked up nice with Nolan. Little didn't really impact the game for me. Hutton looked like he was getting into the game until the sending off. Thought we looked better defensively after the sending off. They had a spare man over on us a few times in the second half until we parked the bus with 10. Andrews looked a bit more of a handful than Willey. Would love to see them play together. Hopefully Ogs is ok or we have no centre backs.

Well, I throughly enjoy the game, and will concentrate on the positive.
Great atmosphere and not one sign of frustration from the home supporters. Even though Chesterfield played well and outplayed the Gills, especially on procession, but, clear cut chances were probably even.
Even tough the Gills defence were shattered and playing with knocks the effort and togetherness of the ten men was outstanding. That’s why the marvellous support was making up the eleventh man for the last 36 minutes.
If team spirit is worth the 3 points, so be it. Great effort Gills.
I have had massive doubts about Clarke and have criticised him recently. However, he’s performance today deserves special recognition. He was tireless and continually trying to get forward whilst doing a fair amount of defending, sometimes against 2 or 3 helping he’s namesake Clark.

Great 3 points. Felt the loss of Rowe affected our balance a little and I think we would have been a more attacking threat as a unit, but Clarke did well. Robbie showed again how useful he is as a player by taking his goal well then stepping up as an emergency CB. Atmosphere was great and dare I say it we probably created the three best chances with the goal, wylies shot and Lapslie's header. Maybe after the last few seasons we will be that team that clinically takes their chances when they come. Still work to do, but unbeaten, top of the league and best goal difference, also having played 3 of the much fancied teams too.

Delighted to see us top of the league and a battling performance deserves great credit. My concern is that , like last year, we are beating sides without necessarily being the better teams, a syndrome which we know all too well cannot last throughout the season. Goalscoring yet again is going to be our weakness I think. Meanwhile today I shall celebrate the the win with a birthday glass of wine or two.

I understand the concern about performances, but with the injury list and tough games, it’s been some start
