I`m not one for standing and clapping a team that has just lost 2-0 at home , but I did last night.
The first half performance was fantastic and as those who were there know all we needed was to take one of the many excellent chances we created. Chesterfield are top , the best team in the league, fit, well drilled energetic, confident - but at times we totally took them apart. The big man Bayo was brilliant, his touch , vision and passing was of a level far above Div 2. Everyone ran for him , read his passes - sublime football and as I said we just couldn`t find the back of the net. On anther night Cody would have had a first half hat trick.
Their keeper made three outstanding saves - as Sir Alex Ferguson says you don`t win the league withou having a top class keeper - something we should invest in next season.
To me this bodes well, we`ve come a long way from the dark days of September and October. I see us being in the play offs shake up and not being the team anyone would wants to play. Jack Payne and Luke Rooney are both fit and pushing for staring places, at last a bit of strength in depth.
We are not world beaters, but we look fit, up for the challenge and do have some good footballers.
To Saturday...poor game where the ball goes inoff the ref ar5e in the 92nd minute...I`ll take that now.
The Cat Man.... sort it out Hess

The only thing that slightly concers me is that it's been said on several occassions this season "on another day Cody could have had an hat trick". I know you've got to be in positions to have chances, but this maybe a reason that Norwich might be willing to let him go. He's a sort of lower division Andy Cole. He'll do for us though.

Well I'm happy woth a lower division Andy Cole. If we were able to go up, I'd also be happy with a League one Andy Cole. 12 goals to date and an absolute nuisance to opposition defences will do me, whether it;s the clinical finsishing 12 out of 12 or a lot of running around pestering defenders ang getting 12 out of 40.
I think we've had our poor spell, we've had our good spell (7 ouf of 8) and are now entering the next stage. Confidence is high, we've just lost 2-0 at home with the opposition manager's praises ringing in their ears. Let;'s see if we can turn it on against Aldershot -a very beatable side, but one we haven't beated for over 20 years (ie we didn't 2 years ago) - perhaps a game I see being more difficult to perform well in than Chesterfield.
I hope 4-0, fear 1-2 but would settle for a srappy win.
