Who the last Gills player was to score 19 league goals in a season before Cody reached it on Saturday? According to a friend Jeff Stelling said who it was on Soccer Saturday but he couldn't remember the name!
I've tried looking it up but couldn't find anything on the net, my guess that it might have been Steve Lovell in the late 80s early 90s.
Appreciate any help!

True - Jackson scored 20, but I'm not sure whether this included cup goals. did;nt Marlon King manage that many? I doubth that Taylor or Asaba managed (although SBT had about 17 when sold at the end of November) so Akinbiyi or Onuora would have managed it

Carl Asaba 20 League goals in season 1998-99 without including any in the play-off matches
For record purposes Statiticians normally only count goals scored during the normal League season i.e 42/46 games

Indeed Asaba did get 20 in 98/99 according to soccerbase.com. Previous to that Iffy and Akinbiyi both had got 21. Jackson got 17 in the league in 08/09.
So if Cody can get another 3 (which I reckon he will) he'll have the most league goals in a season for quite some time.
