As I've said in a previous post that I feel a left midfielder/winger is crucial. I mentioned Ian Thomas Moore is available on a free and could play down the left or as a striker if need be. Also Anthony McNamee did not play for Norwich last season but is still there...I always thought he looked decent and he won't be playing premiership football next year......any other names(realistically) you'd like to see play down Gillinghams left?

Not Thomas Moore a 34 year old down the left to create width?? When he could only get 12 games with Rotherham last season??? No. Just no.

I wouldn't sign him either! Ainsworth did ok for an old man last season!! It was just that if Hess does play a 433/531 then he would fit in.

Kyle Reid, Kevin McLeod or even Chris Shuker who would be an awesome signing in my opinion. But I also think we have enough midfielders to cover he left a striker is more priority.

So which midfielders do u see playing left midfield??? We have no naturally left sided player and paid for playing with no width last season!! A player that can run at and get behind the fullbacks and get crosses in is so important. We need to be able to break teams down next season especially at home and playing with attacking wide players will help! Whelpdale pretty much ties down the attacking right side but no one in the present squad can do that down the left. Watching Charlie Lee in the few games last season and in the Ashford game thrives on having wide players that he can feed balls inside the fullbacks. If we play with a narrow diamond especially at home we will play in front of teams, will be easy to defend against and won't score enough goals to give ourselves a chance of promotion!

Didn't whelpdale play most of the 4 games down the left? We also have spiller to play down the flank. Attacking full backs provide width? Dennis oli? We have enough cover if injurys happen there is always the loan market

Whelpdale played right side! spiller is right footed, Oli is rubbish. Left footed players can get to the bi line and get crosses in in dangerous areas, rather than constantly have to keep cutting back inside!! We have no naturally left sided midfielder/winger! Even against Ashford we were at our most dangerous when we played with width and got to the bi line getting crosses in!

Whelpdale def played down the left against Maccelsfield. Barcham is right footed too. Martin can attack the full backs and put a good delivery into the box.

Kyle Reid gets my vote!!
People seem to be forgetting about Joe Martin, yeah I know he's probably a better left back than left midfielder, but with Frampton being brought in who can also play left back it will actually be intresting to see who plays left back against Cheltenham!!
