Is it me or does anyone else think our 'official' online shopping service is poor by comparison to other sites? (www.gillsshop.co.uk)
The new kit is still not available to order, or even to view the 3 kits. The training range is still the 10/11 season's gear! Leisure wear? Shocking!
The highlight has to be the home page, which lists 'KRBS' as the main club sponsor... How old?
Come on guys, we're losing an opportunity for revenue here!
Do we have an IT team or is it just another half hearted effort...(moan over.)

Totally agree! Certainly needs a major overhaul thats for sure, one suggestion would be to have a NEW ITEMS section as well. As for the Home page they still have the Home Kit the GIlls wore from 2007-2009 showing!! Still im sure if enough people lodge a complaint something will be done about it!!! Email: info@gillsshop.co.uk to have a rant if you haven't already done so

I'm pretty sure that it was released by the club that the new kit wasn't going to be sold online for a few weeks into the season until those going to the Cheltenham match etc had a chance to buy it in person. How much critisism would the club get if people had turned up for the match to find their prefered kit and size sold out due to the internet orders?

A problem that could easily be solved by ordering the correct amount of kit from a kit supplier who could deliver on time. I live in London and with other things on I only get down to about 6 games a season. I like to top up my support by buying the odd bit of merch and a kit in the hope that when I do get down there our team will be full of adam birchalls rather than baz savages. But now it's like Scally doesn't want my money or support! For the previous 3 years I lived in manchester and was reduced to about 1 game a season and just listening to matches and wearing the shirt - There's bound to be plenty of fans like that who will start to feel detached. Having an online shop that crap is absolutely ridiculous. When you click on "kits" it doesn't even inform you that kits will be available later in the season or are available in the megastore... it just shows you nothing. Poor.

Not sure what happened with the double post - I think I just liked your comment so much.

A problem that could easily be solved by ordering the correct amount of kit from a kit supplier who could deliver on time. Unfortunately Scally's Gillingham FC branded crystal ball wasn't working that day so Scally needed to estimate the number of shirts he would need in the first week of the season. I live in London and with other things on I only get down to about 6 games a season. I like to top up my support by buying the odd bit of merch and a kit in the hope that when I do get down there our team will be full of adam birchalls rather than baz savages. But now it's like Scally doesn't want my money or support! With respect, I don't think the non-local fans not being able to buy shirts etc in the first few weeks of the season will make a huge difference to the budgets... Shops sometimes sell out or the item is unavailable until the next stock delivery. Would you boycott Tescos (or wherever you shop) if they happen to run out of their favourite snack and they aren't expecting to restock until tomorrow?? For the previous 3 years I lived in manchester and was reduced to about 1 game a season and just listening to matches and wearing the shirt - There's bound to be plenty of fans like that who will start to feel detached. Having an online shop that crap is absolutely ridiculous. When you click on "kits" it doesn't even inform you that kits will be available later in the season or are available in the megastore... it just shows you nothing. Poor. If you are feeling detached due to the distance then getting a shirt a week earlier isn't going to chance that. I understand the detachment argument having lived outside the UK for a while and ordering stuff online only goes so far... And to be honest, if you think the online shop is rubbish, you should see a lot of the junk actually in the megastore. Apart from the kits, training tops, and a few things like the coffee mugs (maybe), a lot of it is tacky rubbish.

I also saw that on the official website Johnknee, but you must admit thats still pretty poor considering most clubs have had their new kits available throughout the summer and we have to wait until the start of the new season to get our hands on the new kit, whilst the majority of other clubs wear their new kit for the following season on the last day of the season before and start selling them at pretty much the same time. (mostly Premier League clubs but Football League clubs are cottoning on to the idea) Just seems to me Mr Scally could be losing out on quite abit of money regarding the kit as there has been a big demand for them especially the pink kit it seems. I would like to see the online club overhauled myself but I also agree with what you say about the tacky rubbish in the club shop however people will buy it I guess as long as its current

(mostly Premier League clubs but Football League clubs are cottoning on to the idea) You've gone from most clubs to "mostly the Premier League" in a matter of lines - which is it? ;D I could easily be wrong as it is 16 years ago, but hasn't it just been tipically Gillingham to sell the kit late rather than just upon Scally taking over? Just seems to me Mr Scally could be losing out on quite abit of money regarding the kit as there has been a big demand for them especially the pink kit it seems. I'm not convinced the club will lose money unless people decide to not buy the shirt on principle as it wasn't available the very moment they were in the shop. I would be amazed if there are that many fickle fans. I suspect most fans who are disappointed at not giving a shirt etc NOW will buy one instead at the next opportunity. Funny how the pink is popular. If you read most of the forums, most people commented they wouldn't be seen dead in pink and that particular colour might only be bought by the girlfriends and wifes only... Amazing how popular with the males it is too.

Good point johnknee, what i should of said is the Premier League clubs started the fad of playing in the following seasons kit in the last game of the season and now it seems most Football League Clubs have started to follow suit instead ;D
As for the kit's being sold late is does seem to be a common thing with Gillingham as it's happened more than afew times in my 15 years of following the Gills. (First game was at home to Bury in the 1995-1996 promotion winning season at the tender age of 11)
As for the pink shirt, there are many colours I can pull off but pink not being one of them so I just stuck to the home shirt for this season, but if it rakes in the cash (which it seems to be)then thats nothing but a good thing for Gillingham F.C in my book.
