Seems a bit harsh for that petty incident. The foul and abusive language and dreadful challenges that go on and go unpunished, and if the latter could be career Enders don't get any kind of fine as far as I know, that unless as loft the club fine them.

What did he get and have we seen the referees report? Do we know what he's been sanctioned for? i.e is it as PT told it or is there another version?

Seems use of foul and abusive language is fa rule e3 in the technical area. Blimey if that was the case on the pitch then players would be paying to play.

So it wasn't just throwing the bottle? Re the language thing, i think there's a difference between swearing on the pitch and swearing at the officials.....

That just what the rule says, no idea what Taylor said. The report today says he just threw a bottle that went onto the Pitch so possibly no bad language. As to on the pitch, players often swear at the ref and get away with it.

Sorry guys but I would still rather see the good in people than the bad. Too many negative comments at the moment.

Pt isn't bad, just passionate and at least it shows he really cares.

What about seeing the good in the ref? Maybe he got it right with the sending off, FA seems to think so. We don't know the whole story, so therefore we don't know. It's Ok to say the man in the middle, doing the really hard job is rubbish, without the facts, but not to wonder what really happened?

I haven't said that anyone's bad, only that in order to discuss whether the fine was OTT, we need to know what actually happened.

As a 100% supporter of Gillingham I would rather think on the positive side, perhaps we will never know "what actually happened" I am moving on from this as it is what it is and PT has been fined so that's the end of the story.

Frankly Gillsjan, we were asked in the OP to discuss whether the fine was overly harsh. To suggest that wanting the facts before entering into that discussion makes me less than 100% Gills is offensive.

I would have loved the Fa to say that P T wasn't fit to manage a football team and force Scally to sack him, sorry I was dreaming! Basically Taylor cannot save a current sinking ship and his emotions got the better of him its for the good of the club if he left!

I've been quiet recently as I've been getting really pee'd off with the negativity, especially around Taylor. My best mate was even disappointed today when we equalised as he's desperate for Taylor to be sacked.
Sums up how ridiculous football has become.
Yes, we've had a difficult month, but Taylor is doing the right things in building a young side. We haven't seen the best of some of those yet, but the idea that we can judge signings in October and the team after a total rebuild is farcical. Are we surprised that young players aren't consistent? We shouldn't be.
I'd also like to know what these "experts" want the club to do? Bring in a load more journeymen on big wages? Spend money we don't have so we don't have a football club? Appoint mourinho and miraculously win the premier league after signing messi? Maybe a few people have spent too long playing football manager to understand the real world?
Rant over, but it's about time some of our so called fans backed the players, the team and gave the poor kids who turn out for us some backing. The negativity has been round the club for too long. We are in our natural position in league 1/2 which is where we have been for over 100 years, apart from a brief 5 year spell. It'd be nice to get there again, but we won't do it with the constant sniping and wanting managers to be sacked and replaced every 5 minutes.
Hopefully today is the start of us turning the corner
