If we go down this season with Peter taylor still going on about bringing in young players and that's the way forward.
Should he be sacked ??
How much longer do we wait for Taylors plans to come to fruition ?? Another 12 months ??

We won't go down. There are worse sides in the league and we will get better in the second half of the season. We've already shown improved form in the last 6-8 games. If the unthinkable does happen, it'd be hard to see Scally retaining any manager that got us relegated

If we do then i believe PS will give PT one season to get us back up, but as above, their is at least 4 worse teams than us in this division, we will be fine.

That might be true that there are 4 worse teams than the Gills, but if that is the limit of our ambitions it does not bode well for the future.Existing season ticket holders will probably think twice about buying next season if all we want to do is finish 5th bottom. To entice people to this level of football you have to sell the product more, and the only way is to be a little more ambitious than that. The sarcastic comments from people on this forum about " plastic" fans who only go when we are near a Wembley appearance or up the top are missing the point. If GFC won a few more and looked decent and organised and dare say it ambitious more people would turn up. Everyone has a right to spend their hard earned cash how they please, it is very noble to go no matter what is served up, but a lot of floating fans look at results and listen to fans who have been to matches. Bristol City allegedly have a bigger budget than us, well they were in financial trouble not that many years ago, they have sorted their problems out and got on with it.They signed Jay Emmanuel Thomas a player who should be playing in the Premier, why cant we spot a signing like that, you have to pay for quality, probably why!

Bristol City have a very rich chairman/director who has put millions into the club, so forget any comparison with them. They also get over double our crowd so can pay much higher wages to a much bigger squad. As to our fans, even when we were top of div2 and going for a title our fan base didn't swell to any great extent.

I was under the impression that our chairman moved to Dubai to look for investors, yes they have a very rich chairman that has put millions in the club, unlike our chairman who pays himself a salary from the clubs funds. Our fanbase would increase if from the outside if it looked as if they were on the way up and not just yo-yoing. The world we all all live in is all based around success and money. If there is a lack of money, the football clubs seem to be saying that they cant compete while paying todays wages, maybe the football authorities should look into semi pro football in this level or regionalising it just like the JPT. Fans should not be expected to turn up no matter what, as some clubs seem to take advantage of their blind faith and loyalty to their clubs

Regarding Bristol City being a bigger club than us they always have been but we also at one stage went about ten games against them without defeat so they can be beaten! It's the mind set of the team that helps win matches and thankfully the man who was in control of that mindset has now gone!

Any team can beat another on a said day and there always will be upsets, that's the game, however money buys you consistency and top of the table in bristols case.
