"Budget is bigger than over half of the clubs in Div1, abuse PT received on various forums etc". So PS has been busy for 12 days reading Gills fans forums now he's going to start the interview process. Some names on the bookies lists he has never heard or not spoken to,by the time he gets his new man in it will be last week of January by his reckoning. As our budget is bigger than half the other clubs at our level we all should be very pleased with whoever takes over, no more guessing now just wait...............

I think that by asking us to contact him direct this gives our top expert from Wales the opportunity that he has always wanted. We should now get a top manager on his recommendation who will instantly turn our fortunes around. No patience required to build a side over the next couple of seasons developing players.

I felt the letter was well written very clear and concise on what is going on and I am not sure what eles he could do. There will be many on the various forums who will pick every hole they can in this until there is nothing left to do. I shall comtinue to give my full support to the club, caretaker Managers and players until such time as we have a clearer understanding of who will be employed what players will come in and maybe what staff and players will go voluntarily or otherwise. I have always agreed that the constant rubbishing of the Manager and players is completely non productive and I dread to think what damaged may have already been done to the young players that have been bought into this club. I passionately want us to stay up this year and hope that someone can be found of the quality to achieve this in the very short time that they will have to bring in some additional players and get them integrated and playing as a team. I am not very hopeful of a result against Coventry this weekend which would further deepen the position that we are in. I shall be there cheering them on and a win would certainly make my weekend and many others as well.

Jan, agree totally with everything there. It's obviously not what we hoped, but fair play to the chairman for the letter and content.

Dear Mr Scally All I ask is you get Mr Right in Place before the transfer window ends Please Lol, good luck, he has spent 14 days thinking about it, sitting on his ar*e making the odd phone call. Circus springs to mind. but still, agreed to support the players, after all, not their fault.

The trouble is swanleygill we don't know that he has spent 14 days thinking about it........I don't think a lot of people realise that an appointment of this nature will take time. More so if he genuinely was not expecting PT to leave.

More so if he genuinely was not expecting PT to leave. But we do, he admitted he has spoken to no one in person either employed or otherwise, of course it takes time, but 14 days of pretty much nothingness with the chairman admitting himself he has no incline, no idea on who it maybe, is poor. To me it is basically an admission that we will be relegated and next year is a building year for the new manager. We can't expect anyone to come in at start of feb with transfer window closed and keep us up with the odd loan signing.

I read the letter to say that PS has spoken to many carried out background checks taken references and spoken to influential Managers and individuals in the game. This is all pre work before interview stage. Personally I don't want PS jumping in the deepend with a knee jerk reaction and then employing another Manager not suited to the job. PT leaving when he did over the holiday period came with its own problems. I hope we hear something soon. I don't expect to hear anything definite until we are formally advised of the New Manager.

The league is tight enough that we don't need to completely panic. If we can get a win in a winnable game on Saturday, it'll buy everyone some time I'd have rather had a manager in place for the game, but with the chairman in Dubai, it's never going to be quick. That's why he'll be doing a lot of work over the phone first before interviews in the U.K.

A well constructed letter but the shadows of mistrust will always be there with Mr Scally! Gills aren't down yet a good manager could keep us up but sadly he will not have a lot of time to bring in players unless our new manager has players already connected to him! Our gang of four need to address our defence frailties for this weekend there is no room for nepotism!
