I think we need a new manager but there are no outstanding Candidates that jump out to me who I would want in charge of the gills, so I would say give it a few more weeks to see if anything happens elsewhere involving managers leaving/sacked. The fixtures get tougher for us in the next few weeks so I don't expect to much but I will just get behind the boys whoever is in charge!! Come on you mighty Gills!!

I agree, it would be nice to have new boss in charge soon, we doing pretty well with the Gang of Four at the moment and with a few new quality players joining us we could all of a sudden be transformed into playoff contenders with a sustained run of good form, I think we need to defend a lot better as a team, marking needs to be tighter and ball retention needs improving, if we have more of the ball , the opposition cannot hurt you, so we need better technical players who are comfortable on the ball to play on the front foot, there may well be a twist on who becomes managers soon or end of the season. If we can cut out the silly mistakes which have cost us dearly so far this season then we can certainly close that gulf in class between us and best teams in this division. With garmston on the left, we do look rather tasty, Hoyle had a poor game and is the weak link on the right side, so that needs to be addressed, dack is certainly our best and most creative midfield player who looks very comfortable going forward, loft does need to raise his game to justify his selection, hessenthaler needs to work harder on tracking back and would like him to be like marquis more in that he chases opposition players down quicker, Pritchard is a good technical player, but needs to work harder, rather lazy player, played under kuqi in Finland, kuqi said to me during game he needs to stop being lazy and then we will see a better player still, I'm not convinced at the moment about him, doug loft, jake Hess and josh Pritchard are currently weak in midfield, up front I think we are fine, marquis and cody are both doing very well together, if we can sort that midfield out and right back position, then we have the makings of a very good side and firmly believe we will see more goals from the front two.
Happy with yesterday's win but it would be nice to keep some clean cleans otherwise we need at least 2 or 3 goals each game to win a match.

Agree that our ball retention needs to be better but some odd analysis of our players. I thought both full backs were awful. Garmiston got done time and again on the left and I'm understanding why PT didn't play Hoyte. Was surprised Dack was kept on, but it paid off. Still feel Dack is better out wide with his crossing ability. Couldn't criticise Hess for tracking back, though his quality was poor. Thought Pritchard's work rate was very good again. Lots of chasing down and dirty work. Starting to see what he can do with a run in the side. Still feel we need a new manager in asap to work on the shape, especially in the middle and also to bring in the 3-4 players we need

I agree, a prudent manager would have taken Dack off, after the booking, if not after the penalty, but hey, it paid off this time.
Speaking of the penalty, that was an excellent example of how our work rate/reactions/thinking times/attention span are way off other sides. We rarely win a second ball and on that occasion, I reckon that there were four Oldham players in the area who would have got to that rebound before the first defender. Wakey Wakey!

We are some distance away from the top sides in the division but that is to be expected. Garmston has played very, very little first team football at any level. He will take time to settle down and adapt but is much quicker than Martin. Remember how uncertain Hause looked at first and how good he ended up being. Martin was keen to get a tackle in as soon as he came on so the competition is good. Dack was generally less effective yesterday and picked up a silly booking but he never gave up running and came up with a quality goal.
I'm starting to think that leaving the quartet in charge for the time being may be the best strategy for achieving our realistic goal, survival.

You certainly watch a different game to me that's why you are a P T fan and I'm not! Hoyte played well yesterday and it was the German Ehmer who was dodgy in defence, extremely slow on the ball, talk about differing opinions!!!

so 4 loses on the bounce and a new manager is demanded, 2 wins at home against average opposition and now we should keep the 4 in charge, WTF, fickle or what. I have always said the club has the players needed to survive, we need a good manager to guide them.

Personally, I don't think we need a manager at the moment. Two wins in the last two games is good going. Why change a winning formula, whether it's by accident or by design.Lets be patient, and see what the next game brings.

I think things will probably be OK until we have to give Marquis back. After that we'll struggle to score, no matter who's in charge.

No need for Scally rush anything but while we showed a freedom and enjoyment in our play we also showed a great deal of lack of guidance after going 2 goals up.I think it would help if we got in the right man in charge sooner not later. Lovell and co have at least bought us some time and deserve some credit for that. But we also need a older head out there on the pitch somewhere someone to help Loft who seems totally over run by the job of captaining the side.He does not need replacing in my view but he does need help.

Agree totally, but maybe replace Loft as Captain! I always liked the idea of Lovell and Patterson but it's time to get a new man in the job soon!
