When Justin Edinburgh took over I was convinced judging for statements that Hess would leave in the summer.Jimmy Dack is still hinting that he is only staying until the end of the season. But with the camp seemingly the happiest it has been in years.I was told that by someone on the inside and results and commitment of players seem to point that fact. So would it make any sense to change things? In my book Hess now stays if he wishes too they seem to work well together.JE and Hess seem to have the same sort of philosophy all be it we are better organised. In my book it is carry on Hess.Whats in it for him well he may just learn a thing or too if he stays in the longer term as Justin's assistant.

Still to early for that decision, we have until the end of the season and a lot could happen before then that may change there view if each other. I don't liked change for change sake, but until we try something new with dack we may well miss something special.

I thought this was going to be about our midfield...
In Scally's position I'd be wondering if we need both Hess (or Dack) and Lovell TBH.

Me too. My initial thought was "why not both?". Perhaps Lovell did something to impress Scally's while he was joint in charge. Maybe the four were equal but some were more equal than others ?

Absolutely MisterT. Personally, I'd let Hess go and keep Lovell as I believe he was the main driver behind the miracle turnabout, but that's just a gut feeling based on what I'd seen of Hess' teams in the past. Hess and Scally seem joined at the hip though....

Hess might be more inclined to accept a "Director of Football"-type role this time around after what happened the last time he left with a view to going into management. I hope so as there should be some reward for what he's done. And, as you say, Scally does seem to like having him around.

It will be very interesting to see what happens at the end of this season.

Dack will not be coming here, Hess will stay as Assistant Manager. What I'd really like to see is Jim Russell come back - interesting to see how Dagenham have improved since he went there and how they have only had one injury in nine matches (goalkeeper who collided with a player).
