A couple of report comment.
The Donny goal , the ball did not bounce did it? Just sailed over nelson's head and only just under the bar. I forgot about dacks effort headed off the line, but that reminded me about the free header effort for Donny that the striker should have scored from an headed it wring side of the post. Lastly no mention of the Ref who I thought had a very good game being letting it flow and keeping cards in pocket as long as he could. He only fussed a couple of times about throw ins from wrong positions but none dangerous

I don't think the ball bounced either. Was just a floating free kick and IMO, wind or not, Nelson should have had loads of time.
Well done svwhat, I probably wouldn't have thought to mention the ref either but after what we've had to put up with lately and all the things that have been said about them, he deserves a mention

From where I was the ball sailed straight over nelsons head and bounced, but only when in the back of the net. Poor keeping and from nelsons face he knew it. Agree ref better than last few so right to say that as we are all quick to throw mud when they aren't. Overall I thought a poor game with no width and when we play like that it gives our midfielders no time and they aren't good enough for that. Need to open the pitch up otherwise we will see more games like this.

Will add fair play to nelson for his apologies to the crowd at the end of the game, heart felt and pain shared is a pained halved. Sadly I can still remember the exact same thing happened to me in a dad's inter schools match and not sure I got as much support and certainly had less fans to share my pain with.

No bounce prior to scoring, ref was certainly far ahead of any that we have seen in recent games at home and to be honest thought the wind had a detrimental affect on the game as it did against Barnsley, but a least we gained a point against high fliers still keeping ourselves in contention.

It's not the first time Nels has apologised to the crowd this season. Keeping mistakes have cost us badly this season from both Nels and Bywater

As I've said on another thread - no-one could have expected him to have a go from there. Probably not even the player himself. It was just a fluke and I think to say it was all Nelson's fault is a bit harsh.

His starting position was wrong imo. The fact that the player took responsibility and Marquis and JE mentioned it post match should tell you all you need to know

I agree Hess, he anticipated a cross/ball into the box and guessed wrong. Aa said on an earlier post he knew it from his expression and body language.

I agree that the ball did not bounce but the wind turned it into an Exocet missile and it flew over Nelson before he could adjust his position. Still, we got our own back when the wind helped Marquis to get his header on target at the other end. No team likes to concede just before halftime and to get the equaliser before the break was just what the team and the fans wanted.
