2 million. Hold on gills! Egan linked with Brentford and we are also looking for a midfielder and striker before tonight.

Apparently the offer by Brentford for Egan was £500,000 but that was turned down & they were supposed to be coming back with another offer today. As they have just sold a player for a package reputed to be £6 million, we should hold out for a lot more than they have offered. As he has not signed a new contract and can go for free at the end of the season we should let him go. Shame really because he is one of the players that should be looking to keep, but I suspect it's all about his agent looking for a fast buck.

Ipswich Town fans on their forums have been laughing this off as the club doesn't have £2 let alone £2m

Egan would be free to leave in the summer if does not sign a extension to his contract .However he wouldn't be a free transfer(he is under 24 therefore we would get a tribunal fixed or agreed fee.)Selling now may make sense in his case depending on the offer. In Dack's case we can afford to wait unless Dack himself really wants to move and the offer is big enough to take it.Given we don't know who Justin would want if we lost Dack it would be impossible to be sure of his true value. But if a club like Ipswich were able to meet our demands it is hard to imagine a deal wouldn't go ahead.

Can you imagine the sort of fee we would get for Egan if it is left to the powers that be. With the sort of track record that PDPS has got with the FA they will wan't us to pay money to the other club for signing him !!!

The problem with offers this late in the day is it gives us very little chance to find a replacement and in view if our squad size it needs to be 1 out then 1 in. If a decent offer is received for Egan and as he hasn't signed a deal then it should really only be taken if we can get cover in as maybe part of the deal. Tribunal fees are usually pretty poor and can't see it being anywhere near the figure quoted above. Perhaps that's why we have had that other defender on the hook at present?!

According to Bristol city twitter feed, Scally has set his value at 4 million. Can't see that being agreed this late in the day.

While that is the price that may well have come from Scally it is likely that we would except less I would guess 3 million would do the deal today. Not likely but possible.

It would be in Gills interest to make John an an improved deal now. Then even if he moved at the end of the season after accepting it Gills would demand a good fee. But I feel that if we get that promotion he will stay anyway.
