Thank goodness that is over.Well done to one and all it was a emotional rollercoaster there.I never thought I would see the day we could turn down millions from anyone.Great credit to Scally and Edinburgh for sticking to their guns. With many of the top clubs in our league forced to sell players we have consolidated. The players must be over the moon.Come on lads Saturday is not that far off.Normally you would want this one for the fans. But this time it's for Bradley.I am sure the tension got to them a bit last weekend.Time to roll out the best performance of the season.Let's pack Priestfield.Dack deserves enormous credit.Wow in a way it was far better than a top signing because a one point I thought there was no way we could hold out.As a bonus Samuel is on board too. While we never spent a penny or received a penny it may have been the most important transfer window since they started.

Got to agree credit to the chairman for backing the manager! I still think it's Wigan and one other for the two automatic promotion places but heres to Gills being the one other! Let's put Swindon in their place and the deal with our ultimate bogey team inform Barnsley on Saturday week. I still think Peterborough are going to come good as well so its going to be a interesting next 3 months! Up the Gills!

No new signings as such, but maintaining "status quo" by keeping Bradley and extending Dominic's loan certainly made me feel better this morning than I felt 24 hrs ago. Fully agreed stato, this one coming up is for Bradley, lets fill Priestfield with bums on seats and voices, here's to a sore throat and three points by Sun morn. COYG

Samuel is on board too. While we never spent a penny or received a penny it may have been the most important transfer window since they started. There was almost certainly a loan fee involved with Samuel. That aside this has been the best nothing happening window I can remember.

Great news for all Gills fans.Congratulations to PS and the coaching team. Roll on Saturday and lets show our appreciation for their trust in the current squad and then look forward to a rousing three months leading to promotion.

Like to add my voice and support to the above posters. Well done Mr. Scally. Your fans will appreciate promotion rather than a bigger bank balance. I think everybody wins.

Can someone tell me what the financial benefit would be if we go up " as champions" or other.

It is no doubt that we would get bigger gates and more TV revenue plus greater spin offs like shirt and food sales. On top of that there is bigger sponsorship deals and advertising. Too may of those would be unknown amounts as it would depend on success on the pitch as well.Getting competing at that level is likely to eat up any extra funds anyway.Cashing in on one season could have a financial benefit. But with clubs charging on average about £28 for tickets and almost all running at big losses there really is unlikely to be any profits in it unless we sell players and return to league one.The premier league mega bucks will ensure this is not going to change.Bigger sides than us have struggled on winning promotion. In fact this promotion appears to be the hardest one of the lot. Staying there will cost the club in bigger wages weather we can do it who knows but there is no doubt that while it will hit the clubs financing the rewards if you can make the step can be massive. A way forward could be for Scally to final!y find a investor or investor's he owns a lion share of the club so if he sold about a 20% share he would still have control. It is also not impossible that he would get substantial offers to buy the club. There is only one-man who could tell you how much he would want and if he would sell. One thing for sure we will all asked to spend more.

In saying that I do think that we have a much more sustainable club now.The youthfulness would mean if players were to be good enough we could sell them or build around them unlike last time where we had a older side.Edinburgh is clearly a very good manager and keeping him and our top players could hold the key.If we do go up we could maybe sell a player and hope that with those funds the manager could buy a team from our current level say that could take us up the championship. That is not likely in my view. The only real way forward appears to be new investment. Although I can see young players wanting to sign for us so who knows we could get lucky. But would they want it enough to turndown higher wages elsewhere I doubt it.However very few sides give young players a rea! chance and that could be our golden goose.

Yes I remember it from when we won League two but I also remember it was a very small amount indeed although I can't remember how much.

According to a posting in 2013 I just read it said 1st £25k and 2nd £10k, so very little indeed. Compared to balloon payments from the order of c£60m, how can you fight against that!
