Personal opinion or not, it's widely accepted among most gills fans that keds cannot play with Cody, Not sure that it is so "widely accepted" as you think. I think it is commonly expressed that people think Cody has a better chemistry with Bayo, but I don't think that that particular view necessarily extends to the notion that Cody can't play with Kedwell at all. Certainly Kedwell hasn't played as much with Cody that Bayo has. And at the beginning of the season, Cody looked generally off the pace fitnesswise and often was subbed early.

I cant see taylor resigning many out of contract. Barrett and legge still have a further year so theyll still be here. Ditto Martin. I think Taylor will be given the chance to reshape the squad and hopefully the strategy is to sign young players for the future. As for the striker debate, i wouldnt renew either Keds or Bayo. Ive seen nothing to suggest Keds as a partner for Cody and although Bayo is, we need someone who can play 90 mins

I think what most fans realise is that Bayo is a more skilful footballer than Keds (albeit slower and probably a lower workrate)and does set Cody up for chances. Kedwell doesn't as he's a different type than Bayo, so doesn't make chances for others but prefers to do it himself. This means that Cody has to make his own chances, and consequently scores less. Whether Kedwell can make up the difference in goals when he's playing instead of Bayo, remains to be seen.

Given that Cody and Bayo started the season far from the best if you take out the early games. In the last 23 league games(I believe) we have scored 35 goals that works out at just over 1 1/2 per game since the Crewe game in September that average is good enough to get us between 8th and 10th in the goal scoring in this league over the whole season we are 11th highest.Given the defensive set up we have often employed (when in front it has been a common tactic).I really do not think any of our regularly used forwards have done bad at all.Given we have largely had not enough quality in wide areas for most of the season.Anyone would think reading this thread that our forwards Cody apart are not anywhere near the standard needed, I believe the stats show a different story. We have taken a while getting going in this league but when our forwards have had the service they have delivered. If Taylor is confident of improving our front line then fine go for it.But the grass is not always greener so be very careful of what you wish for.

I think Bayo plays intelligent football and thinks about the moves he is going to make.

I think Bayo plays intelligent football and thinks about the moves he is going to make. When you're that size, you don't want to be wasting energy !
