I'm not questioning the Butler,Thompson signings played a part in getting us promoted. I'm just saying that when it came to building a team for the following season when manager of an already great team of great key players in their peak the players Taylor signed were of no use for the future campaign(s) at a higher level. The spine was already there full of great players, characters and leaders something that will always make Pulis successful wherever he will manage. This spell under Taylor has John Egan to show for it as he is the only one that can play at a higher level than we are currently at(Galbraith may explode on the scene granted). I get other teams may have lent us players as I've said Taylor is a good coach and will attract loans but his effort this term has been woeful.

Hessisgod....doughty was a ok player for us but don't think he was great , as you put it !! Don't think he made a huge difference to our midfield in terms of goals or making our midfield stronger with his contribution. Remember we are 5th from bottom !! I won't lose any sleep on him going back to QPR. We have one of the weakest midfield in the division and the possession tactics prove that. Most of the teams we have played this season have had higher possession percentages. True or false ??
So to say he was great is nonsense.

please please please why cant we get behind the club and look forward instead of back whinging about things we cannot change. can I suggest that all Gills fans look in a mirror and ask the question, " how much am I to blame for the position we are in?". I think we are all partly responsible because of the constant negativity I see in posts in her. two years ago fans were congratulated fir being that fabled twelfth man , this year fans are having a negative effect by knocking the management and members of the team, now is the time for true fans to stand up and be counted starting today

Doughty was our best player and a class above what we have. 888 on another planet.

Doughty was a good player but he was also a Billy big boots no relation to terryjolleysboot! He was too flash when all that was needed was a simple ball! Hess, Dack and loft are useful passers of the ball but we need a strong commander in midfield to play with them, Loft should be up to that but sadly he hasn't commanded so far!

I said before the season started a young team needs more support it now seem we are to get a young manager one of his biggest jobs will be to win over the fans if he can do that without losing the players(something Allen seemed guilty of)then we should be on the up.Seems to be a long time since a manager got both supporters and players on his side.

It appears most people are only happy when they are moaning and trashing the club managment and players. If they team play like they did on Tuesday evening then we should see a result that would please everyone.

Our improved form under Taylor came just after Doughty signed. I presume that's a coincidence?

This is ridiculous now, I am so embarrassed about us how can you get rid of a manager who has 2 defeats in 7 and into a final in the JPT we was 3 points outside the relagation zone when he left and 2 away wins on the spin. And now look at us in the relagation places. I would like to hear what swansgills and others who wanted Taylor out ASAP think right now. As most of us on here all agreed getting rid of Taylor without a replacement was just stupid

I was going to wait until the end of this current game but this more than anything shows that Peter Taylor should not have been sacked at this stage of the year. It's a complete mockery having 4 caretakers irrespective that they say they are making decisions together.

It's a complete mockery having 4 caretakers irrespective that they say they are making decisions together. Couldn't agree more. I expect the board will be relatively quiet tonight. In the past the only response those that wanted Taylor sacked have had is that things are somehow so much better now. I'm sorry, but they're not. Last relegation 6-pointer under Taylor was an away win. This was a defeat which sees us drop into the relegation zone after the worst string of results since the start of the season and which keeps up our average of conceding 3 goals every game. In what way is that an improvement?

I'm sure that when we appoint Shaun Derry, mistert, we will go on a storming run to the play offs

I still believe this current squad were starting to do just that. Maybe not the play-offs, but at least they were going up, not down.
