On a more positive note there is only 6 points between us and mid table and 11 points to play off position. I need to be positive or could go into deep depression

Actually, 888, you're showing how little you know about the game. Good luck finding another player at our levels with his range of passing and dribbling ability

Doughty was one of our better players for sure I have been to every home and away game in the last 3 months and he has been the most consistent out of anyone apart from Egan.

Th facts are if Taylor had got the chop in October, not many would have been surprised, then we went on a ok run, not amazing, but ok, and the facts are since his departure, 4 games have passed and we have lost the lot, the timing was just a joke, we are 1/3rd of a way already through the transfer window and have no manager in place, now unless the new manager is going to come in and decide on players in 2-3 days (highly unlikely) then basically someone will come in and work with that we have, which according to swans888 and others is pointless and we are going down anyway, like or loath PT i can't help but think IF we was still in charge we would not have lost the last 4 games. Mr Chairman, over to you.

Agree mistert, but with Doherty, Lennon going back and kedwell and now fish Going I think sinking ship and all that springs to mind. Although every cloud etc, as keds and fish going is good news and maybe, just maybe will allow whoever to invest in some quality.

Must be getting close with the 3/4 longer term injuries. Kids on the bench today I see.

The current situation is beginning to show the lack of investment. Our right back is out of contract in a few days and we allow the other to leave. We have 1 left back, now injured. We can only put out a central defensive pair due to a loan. We're short of options in midfield (2 of our players came through the youth system and will be cheap) and only have 1 firing striker. We need to live within our means and our gates have been poor this year, but it's worrying if that's all our budget gets us

Fish and keds must free up a few grand per week for signings.

Peter taylor was sacked because his football tactics and brand of so called football was pants, the bullet was coming sooner rather than later anyway and that night bristol city completely dominated us from start to finish and beat us 3-1 was the last straw. Scally acted very quickly and believed leaving taylor in charge would have caused us more grief.
If I was the chairman and wanted taylor out I would have done it just as quick because when transfer window re opens taylor would have wanted more players in and i dont think Scally wanted him in that position because many believed he was losing the plot. How would it look. taylor signs some players in january on loan or permanent and get the bullet soon after.
The chairman saw sense and did what most gills fans wanted. Show him the door !! this argument about timing of his departure is nonsense.
