Disgusting result,a result that should come from a relegation threatened team! Yet anothwr winning position thrown away, again lack of on field leadership extremely lacking!
Lets give Burton the league as Gills certainly havn't got the fight to catch them! As soon as the chasing pack catch us watch us slide out of the frame ,we simply do not deserve to be in the promotion frame!!! Same old story Gills,I honestly cannot see us winning another away game all season! Mid table obscurity here we come! Ruined my weekend yet again Gills!!!

I think that I agree with you Terry. That was a disgraceful performance today against a team that have not won at home for 14 games. just goes to show how much we miss Egan, it's a good job that we did not sell him. Then again I was not surprised at the result because I can't ever remember us getting a decent result there.

It looks like the away form is going to cost us. Really must learn to hold on to what we have before its too late. All around us are coming into form, but sadly we are not.Needs sorting quickly.

Sadly we have lost 6 and drawn one of our last 7 fuxtures there! So bogey away team a bit like Blackpool come to mind! What peed me off after I saw we lost pxy Wigan won! We have 3 of the top 6 to play at home but sadly when push comes to shove our team, lacks 'BOTTLE'!

If we can not beat teams in the lower end of the table we will not finish in the top six

I think we have to get a bit of perspective here: eve just lost two major players in our defence Egan on wednesday from an apparent training ground tackle We had a patched up defence with no centre back cover which came back to bite us. The pitch and yes it was the same for both sides was very poor. Nelson- could have done better for the first goal possibly should have come out to gather the high ball and was caught off his line. Chicksen- fairly solid and covered the right back position reasonably well. His main weakness appears to be lack of confidence to take players on and get forward and when he does he stops and passes it backwards and sideways, we badly missed Jackson on the right today. Ehmer -Solid fought well but I think it was Ehmer who was partly at fault with the first goal allowing a straight ball to be out jumped for a bacckheader to go over Nelson please forgive my description of this as I was in the away end this was scored in the home goal. Morris -Worked very hard and did well as a last ditch cover for Egan but was occasionally caught out. Garmston -very solid getting more confident and improving as games go on. some excellent blocks with some very good crosses and good runs he got forward well and created a number of chances which Donnelly and Dack should have converted. Possibly a blot on his copybook was he should have cleared his line better which resulted in a deep cross into the box at the feet of their centre forward to poke it through Nelsons legs. Wright-steady but much quieter today- Dack- a poorer game from him, no shots on target, blazed a great ball from garmston high over the goal when either side of the keeper would have resulted in a goal. Was industrious intermittently but lost possession too often and gave the ball away on too many occassions. Osadabe- For me looks very young and at times naieve. I dont wish to be unkind as he's so young. He worked hard but I feel he makes it up as he goes along and to me it seems that he doesn't know what he's doing at times. This can work in that it can make him unpredictable hence the incredible goal he scored earlier in the season. Loft - For me he had a good game today and scored a great goal unfortunately went off injured. Donnelly - runs wide and produced little today for me.Failed to get on the end of some good deliveries Samuelson-held the ball up but produced little on goal I would like to see him commit himself and be braver and get his head on some crosses. Overall Conditions and pitch was poor and with a pitch like that its easy to see why Oldham dont win many matches at home. Its a bit of a lottery and it could have gone either way today but we have to hit the target which we didnt do nearly enough. WE are a small squad and were without two of our key players. Onwards and upwards there are going to be many twists and turns over the next 6 weeks. Easter could be a defining period.

Today showed how light we are with defensive cover and the needs sorting urgently. If we are going to make the past offs we needs to start wnning with regularity starting next Saturday.

Totally agree hard to believe how some fans can't see how much this team have over achieved. Yes this was a bad result but with only three fit senior defenders at the club it was always a tall order. These results happen over a season.Better to take a few days to sort a new loan signing.I know we are still getting Oshilaja next week but with Egan's injury and the Cardiff position on the loan we certainly need a tall centre back for the rest of the season. Not a time to panic in my view. But we are in need of a quality reinforcement.

i had a feeling today was not going to be easy against a team under john sheridan who had only lost twice away from home all season and it looks like they might be transferring that form to their home matches too.
A good opportunity waste to pull away from the main pack and we really need all hands on deck now.
However, it was disappointing to lose again on our travels from a winning position, JED really needs to sort it out asap before it becomes a big problem. i think mentally away from home we are lacking the leaders on the pitch when the going gets tough and we were crying out for a john marquis up front today and definitely need a experienced vocal defender now that egan is out for 6-8 weeks. ehmer is not the answer and defensively we need a new faces or too.
i'm not panicking but not happy with the manner of defeat.

I think we need to stop using the over achieving tag as its not a positive statement to use and can easily make the mentality at the end of the season "oh well we did really well but didn't make the play offs, but did over achieve". We are where we are on merit and despite what some think I beleive our squad is pretty good and up there with the top half a dozen so are exactly where we should be. Perhaps we should be saying if we make auto promotion we have over achieved ax that is more positive.

Certainly agree with your opening comments evo, missing John Egan badly, our defence was not balanced as we lack cover for him, however should help if the loan of Deji Oshilaja materialises. As for mid table finishing, I for one if offered mid table at begining of season would have accepted, however still think there is some distance to go and we have shown we can bounce back,we are not done yet. Blimey, what a response, OTT springs to mind, we still have 10 points to play with, top 2 was never a REALISTIC target, top 6 is still fandabidozi and i think we will scrape a top 6 spot, lets hope for wembley ehh

muppet .....i go along with you , i don't like the word that we are over achieving at the moment, its a poor excuse when we are rightfully at the top on merit and you won't hear nigel clough's burton saying that. we need to keep progressing and take over over achieving is being negative.
up the gills !!
