Second look, looks like he has a flat back four being protected by Dieng and Mckenzie. 3 midfielders, Mahoney, Lapslie and Williams supporting Hawks. That's OK if it works and they support each other when one ventures forward. That's Don Howe coaching isn't it? So why can't they be coached to do it?

Seems endeavour without knowhow, and boos at the end because of it. Opportunity to get in top 7 missed. If they can get Jorge and Andrews in at least we might have some excitement.

Might have been a much better performance, but that’s 2 points out of 12. We’re 15th in the form table. Without the incredible start to the season, we wouldn’t even be close.

To be fair to Clemence, can't blame him for Hawkins missing an open goal on the volley or Mahoney refusing to use his right foot 6 yards out with the keeper on the floor

Hawkins is part of the forward line HE wanted at the club. It’s absolutely his fault if they’re not good enough

Well slinging fault around doesn't help. We still have the problem of money being spent in the wrong places and no money being spent where it should be. With a little bad luck over the two new strikers but they were not thought out properly along with Walker. Both managers suffered because of it and both did the same thing about it. Hence the season is over, work to do and continue to back Clem and spend some money for him. Be interesting to know if the crap we've bought is because of Scally and Co or Brad keeping the purse strings tight. He won't get us promoted that way, you have to have a little quality.

If we continue to back Clemence after the season has ended, we’ve lost the plot

Well that's a view and I sympathise with it but you have to face the fact that Harris was given the chance despite him actually being appalling for nearly a season, and he should have gone in the summer, so you can't deny Clem on what's happened so far. He has to be given the chance or there was no point in employing him. Nows the time for the backroom to back him properly, especially Brad or he ll be off by Guy Fawkes and someone else will come in and see out another waster season. Amateurish from the 3 has to stop or Brad has to get shot.

Does anyone know what was going on between Clem and some of our fans?

Nothing wrong with the set up or desire today, we simply had 3/4 players being unable to convert simply chances. We were by far the better side and created numerous chances in the second half, so today the blame shouldn’t be left at the managers door. Thought Lapslie was very good and deserved MOM.

Muppet, you’re always a sensible voice, but who bought 3 forwards to the club in January? Who is averaging 1.35 PPG? Who has only presided over 8 league wins in charge? Who has seen our league position continue to fall? Let’s remember Grimsby are 4th bottom. We should be rolling them over.
I’d argue with Bonne and Nichols, we’d have been more likely to take those chances, even though neither were setting it alight.

Hess, none of us know who took those decisions, so it isn't fair. Yes the result criticism is fair but there may be more to it.

What those great goal scores, Bonne 0 goals at Cambridge, Nichols 2 goals for top of the league Mansfield? You’re having a laugh. Masterson has scored more than those two combined since Feb and he’s a centre back. Says it all. You say we should be rolling Grimsby over. Wrexham 0, Tranmere 1. This season the Div 2 league is not easy who ever plays against each other.

You said Bonne was an amazing signing in the summer - not only has he been shite, but he drove a car into a wall, acted like a prat to Charlton fans and gave our own fans the hand to the ear treatment after scoring a goal. I love Nicholls and I do think he would have scored one of the 2 we missed yesterday I do wish the club were more transparent about the structure. If you have a proper director of football and head scout, the "these aren't the managers players" argument goes out the window, because he doesn't choose the players that come in. All he can do is veto ones he absolutely doesn't want. But we've heard clemence suggest he has more of a say than that. Wish we had some clarity
