Ok so we just lost 3-2 from being 2-0 up against what I thought was a very average looking Wigan side, obviously not happy is 1 word but seriously, I am seething, I am so so glad I don't pay to attend matches, paying the sky subscription to watch that was bad enough, at 2-0 I was content, I wouldn't say happy, but content, we looked ok, not world beaters, but a good decent togetherness, then bam, gills of old, absolute joke, for me Donnelly was so so poor, and so was Jackson, sure he can run, but that's about it, Donnelly only stayed on because he scored, Samuel showed touches of class, as did wright, dack, Egan and ehmer, mcglasshan when he came on was a joke, loft did ok,
Overall I am 10000% disappointed in a big big way, gills, yet again, you let me/us down, in the most crappy of ways, if rather have lost 5-0 than lost in the manner we did.

I am very disappointed tonight. How on the earth did we lose tonight. I was driving and we were 2-0 up and got to the bookies and we end up losing 3-2 . Criminal , is the word I'm looking for, the ball retention towards the end was a joke and that winning goal for Wigan was painful . I will watch the highlights tonight.
Feel like crying at the moment

At 2-0 it was easy, we were not amazing, but we didn't have to be, we looked content, the 1st goal the defender should be winning the header, the 2nd, Nelson, well yeah, not good, but it happens to the best, but from then on there was only ever 1 winner, we stopped chasing, went in to our shell, waited to long for the 2nd and 3rd sub and for me made the wrong subs, to many players were average, I honestly would rather have lost 5-0 and put it down to a bad day at the office than lost how and like we did, it was a joke, I hope JE is as pissed of as I am.

I'm so peed off we were coasting how did we lose against a average side? Then again how on earth did we beat the likes of Scunthorpe at home! It's down to a season long problem no strong leadership on the field as simple as that,we have no one to take the team by the scruff of the neck,Wright and Hess went off midfield was lost! Bring in a strong personality on the pitch we might still accomplish top six if not mid table obscurity! Doncaster next who are scoring for fun, extremely worried!

Got to agree, at 2-0 happy was an understatement and whilst Wigan were dangerous I thought we coped pretty well, but then they changed there structure and we didn't and not for the first time this season. We went two nil up and JE should have shut up shop by losing an ineffective Donnelly for a five man midfield, but we didn't and paid the price. Appreciate Nelson had a shocker for the second, but that guy has been outstandng this season so am not going to put the loss to him in anyway. Against better or top sides we have got to be smarter and that has to come from the management.

just seen the goals, their first goal and nelsons mistake knocked the stuffing out of the side, we do need a bit more experience to see out games better, we need to learn how to manage comfortable winning positions and not let them slip like tonight, garmston is quick but not a strong enough defender , macglashan should not of come on as sub and edinburgh made a bad call with him coming on, wright or hessenthaler should have stayed on to hold the ball better and help us see out the game better, instead we invited pressure and jermaine was a wrong call from the boss.
i am very unhappy about the defeat.

wigan didn't win the game , we handed them a new years gift with the poor individual errors and edinburgh's poor tactical changes which assisted them.
i hope we release or sell players like loft and macglashan. bring back adam chicksen, much better player than garmston in my opnion.

Due to other commitments I recorded this match and watched it at midnight. Went to bed very disappointed still can't believe we let this slip through our fingers. It must have been a long miserable journey home for the team.

Looked at the table this morning we are obviously still in a strong position but our next two matches are against free scoring teams Doncaster and Peterboro,we need more defensive nous in the team for these two particular matches, our left side is particularly poor Garmston not good enough defensively! Surely there is three players with experience one up front, one in midfield and a left sided def/mid available on a free in the transfer window!

We lose one game from a winning position after winning 4 on the trot, we average very nearly two points a game and apparently some of our players aren't league 1 standard. Utterly unbelievable over the top ridiculous comments. Thank god the management team don't respond like some of you !

Have to agree with you there Waldogills. I didn't see the game but it sounds like fans are entitled to be a bit disappointed after giving away a good lead and another poor TV performance, but no-one can be unhappy with the current league position and recent performances overall. Might I remind people that only a few months ago, we saw staying up as "success"?
Whilst I agree that we don't seem to have the strength in individual players that we'd like, what they are achieving collectively as a team is amazing. There are several teams who do have those individual players but aren't achieving what we are ATM.
If I am going to criticise and maybe someone who saw the game can comment, I was surprised to see McGlashan come on. I assumed that was a last push for the win, if we were broadly on top, but it sounds like we should have made more effort to defend the point?

Terrysjolleyboot - you talk xxxx Wigan did there homework we were 0-2 up we've got 50 points Wigans job was to stop our wingback and to an extent it did limit our forward width I lost count the number of times Garmston had a 2/1 situation with Daniels and kellet to mark at the same time when Kellet wasn't being picked up. Jackson was limited as well as they pushed two up on him as well at times But could anybody have expected Nelsinho to make such an error after being one of our best players - no Get real we were unlucky last night and could have had a few more goals with a touch of luck It's a great young squad we have here but it will make mistakes occasionally our wingback play enables us to go forward and s ire so many goals together with our midfield and it can leave us vine table at the back occasionally

Everyone has to remember where we were last season and the amount of poor performance's we put in. If at the start of the season u would have said gills have a great chance to finish top 6 this season I would have bitten your hand off aa I'm sure you all would have. Last night we played alot better than we did against Scunthorpe and Southend at home but we are getting more negativity today because we lost the game. We have to pick our self's up and go again and we need to support these lads 100% now rather than saying there not good enough.

it was painful the way we lost the game from a comfortable position and especially going top of the table too.
edinburgh made a poor decision on bringing on macglashan and we could see they were getting at garmston.
this defeat will hurt us all and to get this out of the system best way is to beat our next opponents doncaster, that game can't come soon enough for me.
i hope that defeat will be a springboard for us to go on another winning sequence.
try and enjoy the weekend, chin up all gills fans. !!!

My opinion maybe so strong because this is the first fine I have seen gills this season and I overall, considering we are 2nd in the league, was not impressed, 1st half we had 1 shot, ok took it well, went in 1-0 up, but Wigan did have 2-3 clear chances including the 2 yard miss of the century, 2nd half our 2nd goal was poor defensively from them and it is what kept Donnelly on the pitch, it's all he did all game, at least Samuel showed class, I would have taken off Donnelly and brought Norris on, bringing mnglasshan on JE was obviously going for a break away goal, problem is mcglasshan did get the ball on the break 4-5 times and every time ran it out of play or ran in to someone, just embarrassing for a fresh set of legs with pace, Wigan looked very very average. Maybe my response is over the top, and of course 2nd is still amazing, but I am entitled to comment on what I watched, which was just not good enough, even after nelsons error, we should have been on top as we were before, the fact is, we were not. We are short up top, short in midfield once Hess and wright go off, loft was meant to be this amazing player when he signed, but he is just very average.
